And that’s exactly what my siblings and I did. We set a date, reached out to loved ones near and far, and came together to celebrate our dad, Apostle Dr. Alex L. Jenkins Sr.: “The Man Behind Many Hats.” Husband. Father. Pastor. Educator. Coach.
Keeping it a surprise was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done! But nothing could ever replace the moment he realized that everyone was there for him.

The man who is always celebrating someone else finally got to feel that same love surrounding him. I will carry that moment in my heart forever. 🥹

To every guest and friend who came from near and far: thank you. You took time out of your busy lives to celebrate with our family, and you helped make this one of the best days of my life.

Our purpose was to give my dad his flowers while he is here to receive them. To let him hear our thank-yous, feel our hugs, and see just how much his life has meant to all of us. I’m grateful to God for giving us the opportunity to honor a man who never fails to honor the important people in his life.
