🔘 In the lash world “retention” is a term that is used to describe how many lash extensions you still have remaining within the time frame of a fill (2-4 weeks)

🔘 Good retention means your extensions stayed bonded to your natural lashes and had the chance to continue to grow and follow through with the natural lash cycle

🔘 The natural lash cycle significantly influences your retention because every extension is glued to an individual natural lash which will shed once it reaches the end of its 4 to 8 week growth cycle

🔘 If you upkeep your lashes regularly you might notice every few months you go through a “shedding phase” this happens because your fully grown telogen lashes have reached the end of their lifespan and have been pushed out and replaced by tiny new anagen lashes, restarting the natural lash cycle

🔘 Each individual lash has its own growing process which is why you don’t shed all of your lashes at once, even during shedding phases you will still have plenty of healthy lashes remaining - there just may not be as many that are long because they need time to grow

🔘 Environmental factors, skin types, daily routines, stress + hormone levels can all heavily influence lash retention AND your lash cycle too

🔘 Remember: everyone’s lash cycle + lash retention is going to be different 🫶🏼
