Foilyage Custom Color + Haircut by Sofiya in Multnomah Village. 😍
We love our Foilyage Custom Color because it can truly be customized for each client, whether you’re looking for a bright blonde or something that is subtle and more dimensional. There is a lot of variation with root visibility as well, meaning it can be a perfect low-maintenance option with a soft growout.
Here’s a tip: If your hair extends past your chest, be sure to select the Long Hair add-on when booking. This reserves extra time that is necessary to complete your service.

Protecting your hair from color fade is even more important in the summer. Here are a few tips from Leia to help:
-Wear a hat when spending long periods of time in the sun
-Use color-protective shampoo and conditioner (such as .MURPHY EVERLASTING.COLOUR WASH and RINSE)
-Wash your hair no more than 2-3 times per week and use cold water
-Keep your hair well-conditioned
-Use a heat protectant
-Keep a regular maintenance schedule with your stylist

Heat Damage
My number one pick for preventing heat damage is EVERLASTING.COLOUR LEAVE-IN, because it protects your hair from damage caused by heat styling as well as the sun (both UVA and UVB rays) while repairing and strengthening. If you’re big on blow-drying or other heat-styling, HEATED.DEFENSE is a great option since it provides protection up to 450°F.
If your hair already has heat damage, I would recommend either LEAVE-IN.REPAIR for repairing and nourishing or HYDRATE-ME.MASQUE for repairing and hydrating.
Frizz
My top choice is SMOOTH.AGAIN, a lightweight, versatile treatment that smooths and refines hair texture—even in humidity—and can be air-dried or blow-dried in.
I also love HYDRATE-ME.MASQUE for a deep treatment every other week and EVER.SMOOTH, though this one is heat-activated, so it does require blow-drying your hair.
Color Fade
Up for a second mention is EVERLASTING.COLOUR LEAVE-IN. Strong hair means strong color, and this bond-building treatment locks in color by strengthening and repairing the hair while also protecting from environmental stressors that cause color to fade and adding shine.
To maximize color protection, I’d recommend using it alongside EVERLASTING.COLOUR WASH and RINSE and asking your stylist to add on the in-salon EVERLASTING.COLOUR Treatment during your next color service.
Swimming/Chlorine Damage
If you’re swimming often, I recommend having MAXI.WASH on deck. It’s a gentle detox shampoo that works to remove any impurities, build-up, and chemicals from your hair and scalp, providing a nice refresh.

Ginger & Maude Hair Salon’s Education Director, Nicki, has got you covered. She’s taking us step-by-step through the volume-boosting routine she uses on her own hair at home.
Products needed:
-.MURPHY STAYING.ALIVE: Helps to close the hair cuticle, great especially for fine hair that is also damaged or compromised.
-KEVIN.MURPHY FULL.AGAIN: This, along with STAYING.ALIVE, is designed to thicken hair, rather than volumizing. What they are doing is swelling the hair strand, whereas volumizing products are going to flick open the hair cuticle, something you don’t necessarily want to do if your hair is fragile.
-KEVIN.MURPHY HEATED.DEFENSE: Your heat insurance. Helps seal everything down to provide heat protection and prevent damage. It’s also going to fill in all the little crevices in your hair where you might have some damage, so it helps give guts to your hair as well, which is nice.
-KEVIN.MURPHY DOO.OVER: Also part of the thickening line, this is dry shampoo and hairspray in one. Great for adding fullness.

What causes scalp buildup?
Hanna: Buildup on our scalp refers to the residue of sweat, oils, or even product that doesn’t get fully washed out. It can also be caused by sleeping with wet hair, which creates an environment on our scalp for bacteria to form and cause flaky scalp and skin buildup that feels tough to shampoo out.
How do I do a scalp treatment at home?
Dayla: Start by brushing your hair with a stiff bristle brush like a boar bristle to begin lifting any buildup from your scalp. Wet your hair and massage a scalp exfoliator, like evo’s head start, in with your fingers for a few minutes to really get that circulation going. Follow up with a double hair wash using a clarifying shampoo, such as evo’s common ground scalp shampoo. Use a lightweight conditioner all over to help rehydrate and balance your scalp’s pH, and to really treat yourself, massage a few drops of a serum, like evo’s home base serum, directly into your scalp for an extra hydration boost.
