5 Easy Hygiene Habits to Help You Stay Healthy

Hi there,

Consider this your friendly seasonal FYI: a few small hygiene habits can make a big difference in keeping colds and flu from moving in like they pay rent. Here are 5 simple things you can do today:

1) Wash your hands like you mean it.
Warm water + soap, 20 seconds, and don’t forget thumbs, fingertips, and between fingers. (Yes, fingertips. Those are the troublemakers.)

2) Stop touching your face. (especially eyes, nose, mouth)
Your hands touch everything, then your face is like, “Welcome in!” Try this: keep a tissue handy if you need to rub your nose or adjust your makeup.

3) Disinfect the “everybody touches this” spots.
Phone, keys, steering wheel, door handles, remote, and light switches. A quick wipe-down a few times a week is a quiet act of self-respect.

4) Replace or refresh the things that live near your mouth and nose.
Swap out toothbrushes after you’ve been sick. Wash reusable masks and scarves, and clean your eyeglasses regularly. If it’s been near your face, it deserves a rinse.

5) Cough and sneeze like a considerate grown-up.
Elbow or tissue, then toss it and wash your hands after. Bonus points for keeping some tissues and sanitizer in your bag or car, like the prepared soldier!
