What are the chances that little Morton HS and Mossyrock HS friends from junior year would see eachother in Portland?!
We both agreed we are unsure how we made it to nearly 40 with the type/amount of shenanigans that were had. Back when we were Kyla Crawford and Kalli Dill. ✨

It has been 10 months since my move over to Hawthorne location. What.a.ride.
I am so grateful for my husband, children, salon family and clients.
To my amazing clients, of past, present, and future, thank you. Your support, love and loyalty doesn’t go unnoticed. I know my move to the east side and personal life happenings has taken up a lot of energy, but I’m still standing, and here.
To my incredible team, and everyone else who aided in my transfer, thank you for making Hawthorne my salon home. To Katie, our manager, thank you. Your unwavering support and drive to motivate an established tenured team, and that you know our salon language, speaks volumes.

The reality of getting that perfect blonde on half Asian hair:
1. Multiple lightening sessions ( we are 2 visits in)
2. Atleast 2-2.5 hours per session including haircut.
3. Ask coworkers for toner suggestion help ( thank you )
4. Ask same coworker for help taking photos of the beautiful hair.
5. Understand that teamwork makes the dream work. There’s value behind what we do, and what we do together. Making Portland beautiful one head of hair at a time isn’t always candy canes and rainbows.🌈

Hi, my name is Kalli and I wear many hats: Mom, wife, hairstylist, friend, and human. I’m writing this because a client mentioned to me a long time ago, “ I really like your Instagram. It helped me decide to choose you as my stylist. Some professional social media profiles lack personal content. For me, I really like to know a little bit about who I’m letting into my bubble.” Over my 18 years in the industry, I’ve heard this many times ( at least since social media has become a thing) so I thought I’d write a blurb about myself.
I was adopted as an infant from South Korea to hippy, baby boomer parents from Seattle, and a brother 16 years my senior. I was raised in a rural logging town in Washington State where fishing, hunting, and foraging are engrained in the culture, along with everything else the PNW outdoors has to offer.
Inspired by watching daytime soap operas with my grandmother, i moved to Portland, OR in 2005 so I could go to beauty school and become a hairstylist. My goal was to be behind the scenes of shows and photo shoots. I started with Aveda product at Dosha Salon Spa in 2006. Now, I know being behind the chair working with real people is my place in the beauty industry. Educating others on the importance of being green, ethically sourced ingredients, and recycled material to help us and our plant has become apart of me.
With this all said, i try to instill responsibility, hard work, and integrity in my two step boys that my husband and I raised together. With my husband being former military, and me as tiger mom, they do not stand a chance with getting away with much. Good luck to them. 😌
I’m either all in, or all out, with 100% authenticity. I work hard everyday for myself and my family, and try to make sure I produce only good quality work with the feeling of being beautiful inside and out when leaving the chair.
