⚠️ Attention Lash Artists in Tigard & Beaverton!
I want to share a recent payment dispute involving a client named Mona.
I want to share a very frustrating experience that happened at our lash studio today, October 10.
This client previously visited us on September 6, meaning it had been almost five weeks since her last appointment. According to our clearly stated salon policy, anything beyond 30 days is considered a NEW FULL SET, not a refill.
I have always been very understanding and flexible with my clients. Even when someone comes back after five weeks, I normally only charge an additional $20 on top of our four-week refill price, as long as they still have enough lash extensions remaining.
However, this client arrived 20% of the lashes and most of them outgrow. Of course, this required a full set!
She has visited our studio multiple times, and her previous appointment was a full set and charged at the same price.
After receiving her service, she claimed she didn’t know the price because I hadn’t personally told her in advance. However, Our appointment confirmation clearly listed the service as “Volume Full Set,” NOT a refill, and she had received the same pricing before.
The total service charge was $195. She refused to pay the full amount and handed me only $85, saying that was all the money she had.
That leaves $110 unpaid for a service that was already completed.
As lash artists and small business owners, we invest our time, professional skills, products, and energy into every appointment. We deserve to be paid fairly for the work we perform.
Being kind and flexible with clients should never mean that our time and hard work can be taken advantage of.
To all lash artists and beauty professionals in the Tigard and Beaverton area: please protect your businesses, communicate your policies clearly, and make sure clients understand their financial responsibilities before services begin.
