The Masseter muscle located at the angle of the jaw is responsible for chewing and clenching. For some people, overactivity of this muscle can contribute to:
• Jaw clenching and teeth grinding (bruxism)
• Jaw tension or discomfort/pain
• Headaches
• A wider or more square jaw appearance due to muscle enlargement.
Our job at NC is to assess the underlying cause of your concerns and discussing whether treatment is appropriate.
