Story time šŸ’€

I had to color match remotely.

This doesn’t ALWAYS work out because our phones literally don’t see like our actual eyes.

The root color was a liiiitle bit too dark.

I had no salon 😬

So I did what I thought was the most logical next step.

Hotel body wash!

This has to be abrasive enough right šŸ‘€

It was.

So abrasive in fact that the hair felt like absolute garbage.

Enter Pantene.

Bis-aminopropyl dimethicone is a life saver for mechanical damage AND smoothing and sealing the hair.

Don’t worry though, it’s water soluble.

That means it gets rinsed away with basic WATER.

No, it can’t build up.

As long as you use H2O.

Which like let’s be real If you’re not ever touching your hair with water, we have a much higher problem than drugstore shampoo.

In before everyone says it has chemicals:

Water is a chemical 🫣

Tee hee I’m just a girl but like silicones aren’t the devil so let’s be so serious and become properly educated about the products we do and do not use šŸ«¶šŸ»

Let’s all move to Chicago šŸ‘€

80g in just under an hour and a half šŸ¤šŸ»

This set has a variety of densities, that way every area on the head is safe to install on.

80g for a shorter length like this would be comparable to making about 100g in a longer length.

The lower the density of the strip, the longer it takes to make (hyper low density strips are a process but so worth it for areas like the hairline).

The only way to get faster is to practice, and not just making them aimlessly but setting goals and timing yourself.

I find that a steady pace allows me to finish quicker vs rushing and the quickest way to take way too long is by over-working and forgetting to add more keratin to your tool (you’ll literally just start wiping keratin off that way).

I used the gel granules here but my preference is definitely powder. It’s so much quicker to just bite off what you need with powder vs having to load the tool with gel or granules.

That said - this is more art than science and it’s also about finding the way YOU work best šŸ«¶šŸ»

It’s destroyed šŸ’€

In all seriousness -

I got a lot of s**t for trying Pantene for s**ts and giggles, probably because I’m a stylist and there is a lot of misinformation about products.

I’m not telling you to go use Pantene, but I am saying it’s ridiculous to say it ruins everyone’s hair.

My hair is shiny, healthy, my extensions are absolutely fine and my scalp is actually WAY less greasy vs. when I was using professional products.

It’s about individual ingredients and finding what works for you.

Promise you won’t die from some drug store shampoo just like your skin won’t be ruined using drug store body wash and deodorant. šŸ«¶šŸ»

Can’t wait for class on Monday - the space is SO cute!

The difference is insanity!

Sumeet Jindal, MD/MBA exceeded my expectations and I am so happy I went through with this surgery.

Even though I’m a baby and my pain tolerance is literally in the negative it’s been worth it!

Can’t recommend him and JIYA Eyelid and Facial Cosmetic Surgery + Hair Restoration enough, I wouldn’t trust anyone else near my eyes šŸ«¶šŸ»

Chat is a very polarizing subject

I won’t yell at you for using it

But I do really hope you don’t let it take over all your critical thinking.

I would never want to be beholden to using a tool like that to think of everything for me.

That’s the quickest way to start sounding like everyone else & literally lose your ability to think for yourself.

You know it’s serious when the yarn board gets pulled out šŸ’€

Navigating through a rough patch currently pain wise but I can already start to see the results and I’m so happy so far with how everything looks.

I am so glad I took a full week+ off - highly recommend to anyone who has a low pain tolerance like me or if you have a very active job.

I can’t imagine having to do hair right now, all the looking down the would make things so much worse.

My first check-in with Sumeet Jindal, MD/MBA at JIYA Eyelid and Facial Cosmetic Surgery + Hair Restoration is tomorrow so stay tuned šŸ«¶šŸ»

You don’t HAVE to do this

But I want to 😌

I’ve always drawn, painted, created with clay.

I have drawings that took me days to complete and are worth absolutely $0.

But with this, my artistic side can shine.

I get full creative control.

I feel fulfilled doing it.

Being a succesful stylist doesn’t mean you have to take the same path or everyone else.

My version of success is when you marry what you love to do, making the money you want to make.

It’s not always easy, and it doesn’t happen over night.

Sometimes it may take years of floating here and there to find YOUR thing.

But when you do, it’s food for the soul.

Ps. You can do these toes do projects and they DONT have to take over your whole book.

I mean, I still have color only clients!

Basically, u do what I want šŸ’€
