Shaina Meck is a California Native, born and raised. She has been thriving in the beauty industry for 10+ years now. She attended Make-Up Designory in Burbank, California straight out of high school to futher her education in beauty and special effects. After working as a Make-Up Artist 6 years, she then decided to attend the Cosmetology program at West Valley Occupational Center. Shaina is licensed in North Carolina as well as California making her a dual licensed hairstylist and make-up artist. She was first attracted to the creativity and flexibility of the industry. Now her passion is guiding others to see the beauty in themselves! Seeing the smile on her client's face when their new look is revealed, whether it's a make-up transformation, color, or a new style, fires Shaina's passion even more. With many classes and certifications under her belt, she is a firm believer that continuing education is the key to success. To this day, Shaina continues to further her education with Pulpriot, Redken, Schwarzkopf, and Neuma. She is certified in Babe tape in extensions, Donna Bella sew in extensions, Brazilian Blowout, and Keratin Complex treatments. She is also certified with the Business of Balayage as a balayage specialist. Before moving to Raleigh, her clientele consisted of unicorn hair, balayage, highlights, and long lengths to cute edgy cuts. She loves being well rounded in each area to offer a broad spectrum for her clients.
She has worked on numerous photo shoots, special events, as well as with many other talented make-up and special effects artists, such as: Gage Munster, Marcel Banks, Jo Holland (Face-Off Season 1), Greg Lightner (Face-Off Season 2), Kris Kobzina (Face-Off Season 4), Laney Parkhurst, also known as Laney Chantal (Face-Off Season 5), and Johnny Leftwich (Face-Off Season 10). While make-up will always be her first love, hair has taken over her love for the industry. Constantly craving new information and growth when she began doing hair in 2013, she absorbed everything she could possibly learn about hair. She loves not only the business side of the industry, but she also loves connecting with her clients. Customer Service sits at the top of her values when it comes to her work, priding herself in the art of her consultation and attention to detail. Listening to clients and open communication is crucial. Shaina is a true artist. She is able to customize really any look by adding in small details like face framing to get to the desired look a client is looking for. She values each and every client and always ensures that her clients feel comfortable in their own skin and leave feeling rejuvenated, happy, and the best version of themselves that they can possibly be. She truly has created a safe space for honest feedback for all clients in the salon.
Its no secret that she loves all things spooky and Disney. Shaina's vacations usually consist of a nice relaxing weekend in the mountains to enjoy the cool breeze with her husband. Listening to music, watching a movie, scrolling through Pinterest hair and make-up boards, or watching educational videos is what keeps her on her toes when it comes to inspiration. In her past life, she could have been a elementary school teacher with her love for children.

October 4th, 2026 at Woods of Terror — Industry Night — kicked off with Crypt Kicker walking out and setting the energy, followed by Bone Daddy leading the legendary Monster Parade. The casket car, the creatures, the details… every single look was dialed all the way up. Crypt Kicker isn’t just the opening band either — they’re a huge part of the Midway entertainment every single night.
I’ll be filming the Monster Parade every night this season so you can see the full evolution of these looks up close. Huge shoutout to every talented makeup artists in the Woods of Terror family — the work that goes into transforming these performers is pure artistry, and I’m proud to be part of bringing these nightmares to life.
Quick note on Industry Night: Woods of Terror opened their doors with free general admission to fellow haunted attraction industry members (RSVPs were required by Sept 30 and parking was still $20 cash). That kind of generosity from the owners is genuinely appreciated. While filming, I heard some pretty disrespectful comments from a few people wearing other haunt shirts. Getting to experience the 35th legendary season for free and still choosing to talk down on the actors and the haunt just isn’t okay. Support the entire industry with respect — we would never do that to another haunt, and it shouldn’t happen here either.
Pro tip for first-timers: get there early so you’re not stuck in the back of the crowd. The parade is pure chaos in the best way, and the details hit different when you’re right in the middle of it.

Yesterday I had the honor of doing both hair and makeup for this stunning bride — plus the maid of honor’s hair — for her wedding day… on a Tuesday. Yes, a Tuesday.
It was their 2 year dating anniversary and their 1 year engagement anniversary, so the date held real meaning. And honestly? That’s what matters most.
I’ve done a lot of weddings over the years, but this one felt like home. The bride and I are two peas in a pod (dark, dramatic, slightly unhinged peas). I can’t wait to see the magic captured.

🎃 Caught the Monster Parade at Woods of Terror on October 3rd, 2026 and it was pure chaos (in the best way) 🎃 The monsters all asked me what day it was 🤣 Thanks Mean Girls…
The creatures were already marching through the Monster Midway in Greensboro. Every single night the parade kicks off the evening with Bone Daddy leading the charge, live music pumping, and an army of fully transformed monsters taking over the midway before the haunts even open.
What you’re seeing isn’t just costumes… it’s hours of detailed special-effects makeup, prosthetics, and character design brought to life by the insanely talented makeup artists of the Woods of Terror family (yep, including me!). From the tiniest scar to the biggest creature transformation, this is pure practical artistry in motion.

Still managed to get extra looks at Crypt Kicker and Bone Daddy leading the charge, and every single creature that rolled past was covered in next-level SFX makeup. The detail these artists put into every look is unreal.
