Showered With Hope

October schedule is done!!
Thanks Kara Nesbitt for the beautiful graphics!
If the weather is under 45 degrees, remember that we set up at WSDCA CAP Office.
We hope to see you at an event.

Friends.....
15 showers (limited by size of the waste tank)
127 hygiene kits which also includes socks and underwear and washcloths.
13 haircuts by the amazing Lindsey Zimmerman with Home Ministries.
Limited because she ran out of time.
If there were more stylists to step up, another 12 were on her list and could have had a haircut.
Rumor has it that nearly 600 walked through the doors.
Eddie's Tacos served 268 tacos.
Salvation Army served 464 hot dogs.
You'nique Brews served over 400 drinks.
Also..... about 55 Hot Wheels made it into the hands of kids.
I couldn't count the "thank you's"......
The volunteers that show up time and time again are amazing.
Like, there are no others that compare to this group!!
God is responsible for it all.
It's all His..... we get to share it.

Don't forget about Community Connect on Tuesday 9/29.
It runs from 10-4.
Everything is free, and I believe there are 17 Community resource tables that will be set up indoors.
We only can give 14 showers due to the size of the waste tank, so get there early!
We will have hygiene kits and towels to give along with free socks and underwear.
Due to the size of the event, we can only give 1 pair of socks and 1 underwear to each person present.
For Uncle Johnny to get items, he will need to be present at our shower trailer! We can't give them to you to take to him.
I hope you all understand!!
I believe haircuts will be available, but if you are a stylist, or know of one who wants to give back by volunteering... let them know to reach out to me.
We always run out of time before the haircut list is done!
There will be food trucks there!!
The food trucks start at 11:30 and have a limited menu, but again, it's all free!
We pray for a safe and successful event.
I pray for no drama and chaos!
This is all done by volunteers so please treat them with respect and patience!!

13 showers.
31 hygiene kits.
1 ballcap for an extremely sunburnt forehead.
Lots of hugs.
1young man started working with one of our Monday Community Picnic volunteers.
Celebrated 147 days sober for another friend.
Mourning the passing of another guests brother.
It was a perfect 72 degrees and a real light breeze.
Water was set at 104 degrees and AC inside the shower stalls at 68 degrees.
You really need to show up.
It'll help your heart.
I promise.
We have the best volunteers.

We are out of women's small underwear!
We could use some, please!?
We are also short on women volunteers for the showers!
Our snack and coffee lady is gone, so if you want to drop off some snacks, that would be great!!
Haircuts will be available through Home Ministries !!
See you there!

Today we were short on volunteers.... it was just Gary Kreun and myself.
One of our regulars showed up and took over the sign in duty and tending to the women showering.
If she hadn't of stepped up, we probably would have shut down.
We made it part of the rules and regulations to make sure a woman was always present in case a woman needed help in the shower.
We showered 7 humans.
We gave out around 20 hygiene kits.
We gave away around 30 pairs of underwear and socks.
7 or 8 sports bras.
4 finger nail clippers.
1 bottle of foot powder.
It was a really good day!
Thanks Hills Septic for servicing our shower trailer.
Thanks Serv-all for the clean towels!
Thanks Debbie for the underwear!
Thanks Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op for hosting us.
Next event is 9/17 at Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church 9-11 am!

We were going through our inventory for 9/15 showers at Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op and noticed that we have no 2XL men's boxers and no ladies small underwear.
Feel free to stop by with some on Tuesday!!!
Every donation gets a free hug!!
