My word for this week is ALERT.

Monday: Guarding the Gate

1 Peter 5:8 reminds us to stay sober and vigilant. Today, I’m actively choosing to turn off the constant news noise and tune into God’s Spirit instead. Where are you directing your focus today?

With so much noise and drama happening around us in the news and daily life, it’s so easy to get pulled into the commotion. But I don’t want to live in a state of distraction. Every time I hear about something heavy, I want my first reaction to be prayer—taking it straight to God, diving deeper into His Word, and keeping my ears open to the Holy Spirit. Staying sober-minded and vigilant, because that’s where true peace and readiness are found.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

Notice how Peter links being "sober" (clear-headed, calm and collected in spirit, which makes me think, untangled from worldly drama) directly with being "vigilant" (alert, to watch). When we stay sober-minded, we see the noise for what it is—a tactical distraction—and remain positioned in prayer.

Struggling with Doubt? Do This First

If you want stronger faith, you have to change what you are listening to! Faith isn’t something we conjure up on our own; it grows as we immerse ourselves in Scripture and tune our ears to hear God's still, small voice.

Just as physical nourishment builds our bodies, spiritual nourishment builds our spiritual endurance. When hard times hit, it is the Word of God hidden in our hearts that keeps us standing strong.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." — Romans 10:17 (KJV)

My focus word for this week is Anchored

Sabbath

Pausing today to rest in the truth that my future is completely secure in Christ. Whatever next week brings, the Anchor holds.

Friday

Looking back on this week, every moment of peace was directly tied to trusting Him rather than my circumstances. He remains steadfast.

Thursday

His peace isn't the absence of trouble; it's the presence of Jesus right in the middle of it. Grateful for a secure foundation today.

Wednesday

Midweek reminder: You don't have to generate your own strength to get through the storm—you just have to stay tethered to the One who holds you.

Tuesday

When the news or daily worries feel heavy, I'm learning to trade my anxieties for His promise in Hebrews 6:19. So thankful He carries what I cannot.

Monday

Remind yourself today that anchor lines aren't meant to keep the sea calm; they are meant to keep you steady while the waves move. Holding fast to His peace today. ⚓️

With everything going on in the world right now, it’s so easy for the sorrow to feel completely overwhelming. But my word for the year is Anchored. I’m realizing more and more that without Jesus, I just can’t carry it all. When I choose to trust Him and let Him be my hold, He gives a peace that nothing else can offer. Holding fast to Hebrews 6:19 today—He truly is an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast. ⚓️🙏✨
