Hi there! Let me introduce myself. My name is Donnica Dean, also know as The CODA Colorist. Specializing in hair color, extensions, & natural hair
Located in Richmond Virginia, my salon offers a safe space where beauty, inclusion, & accessibility collide! I truly believe that beauty should be accessible for everyone! I've uniquely blended my passions as a licensed cosmetologist & state certified American Sign Language Interpreter into one. My salon offers a barrier-free & safe environment where beauty, language access, and inclusion collides. To know me is know, that I LIVVVVVE for a good ole beauty transformation. For those who may be unfamiliar, A CODA is an acronym for Child of Dead Adult(s). Essentially meaning someone who was born to Deaf parent(s). As a CODA, I've had the privilege to navigate 2 worlds: Deaf culture & Hearing/spoken. I felt compelled to include it into my business name because it's such an important part of my unique and multicultural identity. My goal is simple, to bring awareness & bridge the gap for equal communication access to my Deaf & Hard of Hearing peeps. As I began this new journey, I feel an overwhelming wave of excitement & joy to be able to walk into my God given purpose. I can confidently confess that I'm BOLDLY ready to walk into my purpose & share my God given gifts and talents with the world!
