Today begins the 30 day countdown to “Our Laughter in the Rain 2026….”
“Our Laughter in the Rain” began 15 years ago when I recognized the need that cancer warriors and thrivers have to gather together for support, outside of a medicinal setting and in an upbeat and beautiful atmosphere .
Every aspect of this gala is strategically planned to bring joy , hope , connections and compassion to cancer warriors and thrivers.
It is a night where they can celebrate what they have been through and their future…
This truly is a magical night for them !
If you know, a cancer warrior or thriver in the Virginia area, please share this information with them as I know they would be blessed by this incredible night …
The next few days I will be sharing the details of our upcoming gala, and you will get to meet all of our cancer, warriors and thrivers who will be our models this year ..
We have 10 women and we have 10 children models including some incredibly handsome young men.
Each model has a story that will touch your heartstrings and put life situations into perspective…
Although this is a gala for adults, I bring children warriors and thrivers in to model ..
Their stories of perseverance and bravery always propel our adult warriors and thrivers to continue to run the race and fight as these children are and have done…
Would you pray with me that this night would touch hearts, bring Hope to their souls and assure them that they are precious and valued beyond measure….

One more side to gold leaf…
This gold leaf paint takes at least 3 coats and the trim is so intricate…
Since I have had to minimize my time on my feet this week, I have been able to paint by sitting and laying down…
Sooo much to do to get ready for the gala … 😍

If you know my 3 year old grandson at all, you know he LOVES his cars!!!
He especially loves his red mustang….
Last weekend he took this bunny off of my porch setting and put it in his car as he drove around the culdesac…
It made me laugh but also made me think about what a blessing having friends is…
A good friend is truly a treasure…
I guess this bunny could be called a “ ride or die” friend …
He is there to listen and support and he is not going anywhere unless someone removes him ..
The best kind of friend to have…
A great book I love says “ A friend loves at ALL times..”

The top of the carriage is done painting now on to the carriage base….
Seriously.. who ever said a garage is meant for cars 😂
The challenge with gold leafing is that it needs a minimum of 3 coats..
lots of time and patience needed 🙈😂
But the outcome is worth it!
