Skin, hair + baby care that refuses industry BS. No ingredient dusting. No fake refills. No fear-based marketing. So Bright Body was born.

Just Ayurveda + cosmetic chemistry + ECOCERT standards, formulated by a chronically-ill Latina mom of twins. A note from our Founder + Formulator, Gabi Day:

“I've never had a clean beauty brand work so well for me, so quickly.” ⬅️ We hear that a lot. Any ol’ brand can claim that their products are “clean” or “nontoxic,” but you know that their ingredient lists often tell a totally different story ❌

Problem is, unless you’re a cosmetic chemist, it is a massive time suck to actually sift through ingredient lists and know what’s what 🤔

Even if you find a brand that’s as clean as it claims, you’ve probably dealt with subpar results, inaccessible prices, and wasteful plastic packaging that will just end up in a landfill 👎

Beyond that, there are more landmines when it comes to choosing a business to support. Voting with your 💵 is a real thing, and 2020 showed us the number of brands that are openly bigoted or who would prefer to remain silent on important social justice issues. In the wellness world specifically, there is no shortage of brands spewing dangerous conspiracy theories and anti-science rhetoric 🤢 Gross. My own disillusionment with the clean beauty world is exactly why I created Bright Body – a line of ✨ truly nontoxic and eco-friendly ✨ beauty products that work. I live with multiple chronic illnesses and couldn't find a brand out there that checked all my boxes for ingredient quality, performance, eco-friendly packaging, accessible pricing, and alignment with my progressive values. I spent years learning cosmetic chemistry 🤓 and developing our line. I’m proud of our truly nontoxic products made with only EWG safest-rated ingredients and packaged in refillable glass and aluminum. I’m also proud to operate a business that believes in crazy things 😉 like equity and science. If any of this resonates with you, like 👍 our page to keep up with what we’ve got going on. xo,
Gabi

Every night, the ointment. Every morning, the same irritation as before 🫠

And now your kid fights you after bath time 🛁 because she doesn’t like feeling greasy if it doesn’t actually help the itchiness.

So, why doesn’t Vaseline work for every kid with eczema?

Petroleum jelly is an occlusive, which means it seals.

That’s it.

Contrary to popular belief, it does NOT moisturize.

So if petroleum jelly isn’t working for your kid’s eczema, I might have your next go-tos:

🧡 All Purpose Wonder Balm goes on first.

It’s made with 2.8% hydrolyzed quinoa protein, which supports skin's own repair process, with calming chamomile and softening shea butter.

🐝 Buzzeline goes on top.

It’s our petroleum-free Vaseline substitute that moisturizes AND seals.

Worried about allergies or sensitivities?

That’s why we have a 30-day money back guarantee and offer mini sizes for your first try (no return required).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "My almost 2-year-old has been suffering from eczema since he was about 5 months old. We have tried everything…this stuff is the only thing that doesn’t make him cry when we put it on, and actually soothes and heals his itchy skin.” - Joanna S.

I don't f*ck with EWG or Yuka anymore. And yes, I used to.

As I learned, I changed my opinions based on data (omg, what a concept).

Quick primer:

🚨 Hazard is what an ingredient could theoretically do to you.

🚨 Risk is what it actually does, at that dose, in that formula, next to everything else in the bottle.

The trouble with EWG is that it treats those as the same.

That means lots of alarmism-adjacent scoring when it’s just not necessary.

As someone with multiple chronic illnesses and a melodramatic immune system, I formulate from data and out of an abundance of caution, but never fear.

I use ECOCERT standards instead - the international standard for safer, sustainably sourced chemicals - and when the data is missing or mixed, I err on the side of caution.

Still checking EWG or Yuka before you buy something?

No judgment. Just bring a big pile of salt with you.

Got a question about anything on our ingredient list? Shoot me a DM and don’t be annoyed when the answer is “it depends” 😅

The industry thinks that plastic packaging is the "most" sustainable 🤨 because it's lighter to ship…

But the industry also stops counting the day you're done with the bottle.

You've probably seen charts 📊 like what you see in this video on beauty brand product pages.

It's called an LCA, short for life cycle analysis, and it looks like transparency.

BUT it gives "sustainability scores" only counting what it takes to MAKE + SHIP the container.

They don't count what happens once you TOSS it.

Yes, that means they don't factor in the fact that under 9% of plastic actually gets recycled ♻️

The one thing plastic is worst at is the one thing it doesn't get scored on.

But glass and aluminum are infinitely recyclable without a loss in quality.

And 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use.

Neither of our two refill systems is perfect.

Both take plastic out of your routine, and we've diverted over 60,000 containers from landfills so far.

There is no perfect sustainability answer and I'm not going to pretend there is one.

I can be transparent about the choices we made and why, and you can decide whether you agree with them. 🌎

So next time one of these charts shows up on a product page: don't forget what it doesn't count.

What's the worst greenwashing you've seen dressed up as data? 🌱

It's almost spooky szn, and the wellness world is a basically a haunted house where behind every door is Oakleigh’s momma telling you that you’re poisoning your kid.

There's no chainsaws, just five whisper-splaining grifters with a link in bio.

Door 1: we don't use chemicals on our kids.

Girl, your kid IS chemicals. So is your breastmilk. 🤨

Door 2 decided I hate my children over a snack.

Door 3 thinks you can cure your chronic illness with breathwork.

And don’t forget about the link to essential oils in their bio.

Door 4 is the anti 💉 equivalent of “if I can’t see you, you can’t see me.”

Door 5 clocked that I look tired and would love to talk to me about a “business opportunity.”

Blah blah blah.

What they're actually selling is the twenty seconds of panic they put in you first.

I'm a formulator with EDS, POTS, and Lyme, my immune system is melodramatic.

I spent 10 years in the yoga and Ayurveda community.

I also have identical twins after IVF, three losses, and an ab0rtion that saved my life.

Through all that, I have been the target of an attempted SHOVE through every single one of these doors.

But I don’t play that, sorry not sorry.

Yeah, we’re “clean” but not MAHA. Sure, we “lose sales,” but it’s fine by me. 💪🏼

Who'd I miss? 🎃

You've got a cabinet full of half-used tubes of lotions, potions, and creams, but your kid still scratches his skin in his sleep.

You want something that works with “cleaner” ingredients, but you don’t want to fall down an anti-science rabbit hole or use something that doesn’t work.

Everyone tells you that you can’t have both.

But I’m here to say you can.

I'm Gabi 👋 Formulator, chronically ill mom to twins with eczema, certified science and herb nerd.

After getting annoyed AF with the “clean” products industry, I learned to make products myself.

Here’s the routine that helped with my own kids’ eczema-prone skin:

Head To Toe Wash. Cleans without stripping the barrier.
Wonder Balm. Moisturizes deep and helps the skin repair itself.
Buzzeline. Forms a barrier while also moisturizing all day/night.

Every ingredient is dosed at a % that actually do something, held to international standards for safer ingredients and sustainable sourcing, yes we cite studies on our product pages.

So. Use the hydrocortisone when your kid needs the hydrocortisone. Talk to the pediatrician. We handle every other day of the month 🧪

We’re proud to be the go-to for thousands of scrunchy parents.

Round three of samples got here from Colombia 🇨🇴

I set the camera up before I opened the box because I knew I was going to be unbearable, and dear reader, I was 🫠

Buzzeline texture, finally right.
Flax Gel with the new scent, delightful.
The lower profile pumps I asked for, they did it.

Am I being dramatic? Yes.
Is it an act? No. I’m just an Aries.

Okay so why did this take THREE rounds.

They followed our recipes to a T, but it turns out homologating formulas made with essential oils is a helluva lot harder than when you use synthetic fragrances.

Their frankincense just smelled nothing like our frankincense and it threw the entire formula sideways.

And I gaslit myself for a full round assuming I had messed something up somewhere, until Jimmy went “wait wait wait, why don’t you ask them to send samples of the essential oils they’re using.”

Thanks boo, you were right.

For everyone who answered the survey with some version of “outsourcing is fine, I’m just nervous about quality” - y’all ain’t got nothing to worry about.

Our partner has 40+ years experience in making cosmetics. They’re an FDA-registered facility.

Trust and believe I would never outsource if I was worried about quality.

The only thing new? A few of the scents are different because HI, I changed them 👋🏼

Enough of you told me the lavender wasn’t your fave, so the flax gel and curl refresher will be orange and mint now.

Turns out production is the fast part. Sourcing the aluminum bottles is what takes forever ♻️

We’re gunning for the first order before holiday 🤞🏼

Your friend has almost the exact same curls as you...but when you tried her holy grail gel you hated it.

You didn’t use it wrong.

Your hair just holds water 💧 differently than hers.

That’s porosity 🔀 how easily water gets into your hair, and how easily it gets back out.

Curl pattern tells you what your hair looks 👀 like.

Porosity tells you how it behaves ✨

It’s also the only one of the four you can’t figure out by looking.

So we formulate by porosity, and we recommend by porosity.

No matter what, you’ll have soft, defined, frizz-minimal
curls that are still there on day three.

No ramen-y hair ever.

Plus all our formulas are refillable, and every ingredient
is dosed at an effective percentage.

You can sort our curl collection by porosity, so you can buy the two or three things that fit how your hair actually behaves 🫵🏼

Systemic misinformation on ab0rtion is a massive problem. This is one woman and I have no ill will toward her. But in case it wasn’t clear, I support access to ab0rtion, period. There are no qualifiers.

If that’s not your thing, please don’t buy from us expecting me to be a “palatable liberal” because I am not, will never be, and have no interest in sanding off the edges of myself for the sake of a few dollars.

My values come first. And yes, I know that we are not for everyone. We are doing just fine, thanks.

Can’t find the right routine for your curls or waves? It’s not your curl pattern, your strand width, or your hair density.

It’s your porosity AKA how porous your hair is - how easily does water enter and leave your hair.

If you go to the 🔗 in bio and find the Hair Porosity 101 page, it’ll walk you through understanding yours.

And for the love of god please don’t do the glass of water test, it’s not accurate at all.

No I don’t think my dad was fully buying into “anti-aging” I just think his adorable Brazilian text illustrates the bigger point here.
