She almost gave up.

Not because she wasn’t strong.
Not because she wasn’t capable.
But because she got tired.

Tired of pouring into everyone else while feeling empty herself.
Tired of pretending she was okay.
Tired of looking in the mirror and wondering where the woman she used to be had gone.

One morning, she made a promise.

She didn’t promise to become perfect.
She didn’t promise she’d never cry again.
She simply promised herself that every day, she’d choose herself a little more than she did the day before.

Some days that looked like drinking more water.
Some days it looked like saying “no.”
Some days it meant resting without feeling guilty.

Little by little, she stopped trying to become who the world expected her to be.

She became the woman she needed.
