Regretting that Black Box Dye??

Going from a Level 1 (black) box dye to blonde requires a multi-step correction to strip artificial pigment without compromising hair integrity. Using the professional-grade Goldwell portfolio, this multi-visit transformation is achieved through color removal, careful lifting, and precise toning.

Phase 1: Canvas Reset (Color Removal)
Box dyes contain stubborn oxidative pigments. To get to blonde, you must gently remove this buildup.The Product: Use ⁠Goldwell System Hair Color Remover.The Process: This gently strips artificial dyes without lightening your hair's natural canvas. It leaves a clean, copper-to-warm-brown base ready for the lifting process.

Phase 2: Lightening
Because Level 1 is heavily pigmented, you will undergo one or more lightening sessions.The Products: Use Goldwell LightDimensions Oxycur Platin (for heavy lifting), or SilkLift Strong. The Process: The stylist will apply lighteners in a "slow and low" calculation process to preserve hair integrity, ensuring you achieve maximum lift past the red and orange stages.

Phase 3: The Gloss & Tone (Demi-Permanent)Once the hair is lightened to the desired pale yellow, it needs to be glossed for a seamless, healthy finish.The Product: Use the demi-permanent ⁠Goldwell Colorance line. Your colorist may utilize a color-melt or root smudge technique with a darker toner to seamlessly blend your roots while keeping the ends bright blonde.

Phase 4: Home Care
Because lightening the hair opens the cuticle, maintaining a blonde from a dark box-dye requires stringent at-home care.Switch to color-safe, hydrating routines such as the Goldwell Dualsenses Blondes & Highlights shampoo and mask to lock in color and prevent dehydration.

Disclaimer: This is a complex color correction that should only be performed by a licensed professional. Level 1 box dyes are notoriously difficult to lift safely at home, and multiple salon sessions may be required to reach a bright blonde without severe damage.
