This was soooo fun. Full head of individuals for my girl katietorwalt 🤍

In the past we’ve done wefts, hybrid methods, and k tips for fill ins up front but this time we decided on a full head of keratins!

She naturally has baby fine, kind of wispy hair and we love that these mimic the look of that and move a little more realistic for her texture and density.

And maintenance wise, she’ll be good to go for about 3-4 months!

If you want more seamless brunettes, try this. You need connecting levels! Add a mid tone of some sort is the key here.

In this case, her base is a 5, we root melt the new highlights with a 6, the high lift in foils is about a 7 and the lightener lifts to an 8!

If I didn’t have her mid tone here, which is the high lift, overall it would stlll be pretty it would just read more high contrast because those level 8 highlights would be sitting next to the 5. Anything 3 levels or more apart will create contrast.

Why just one technique when you can combine two?! Let’s break this Donna Bella Hair Extensions transformation down a bit more:

One of my favorite ways to add bulk/length/density is with wefts BUT what about those areas wefts just simply cannot reach? Thats where keratins come in.

Two rows of Hybrid wefts in the back to blend out her perimeter using the colors 7N for a medium blonde that matches her natural and 5N/7n/9n which matches her dimension throughout.

These wefts combine the best of both hand tied wefts and machine wefts and I didn’t even have to color them, they matched so perfect!! Pro tip here: your blonde clients NEED dimension in their extensions for the most realistic match!

Next, kera-links went in around her hairline (using the same shades), including the underneath where that spot is usually a dead giveaway for extensions. I was able to cut them into thirds and halves depending on the density of the area I was working on. This is also where I was able to extend her bright face frame pieces using the brighter blonde pieces. Try adding in a couple of keratins underneath your bottom row and around the hairline and watch your extension applications upgrade instantly.

This was SO much fun. Extensions are really so magical and I love watching the confidence it brings to my clients 🥹🤎
