Tox is typically refreshed every 3–4 months, while filler can last anywhere from 6–18+ months depending on the product, treatment area, and your individual metabolism.

Biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse are a little different. Sculptra is often done as a series of 2–3 treatments spaced several weeks apart, while Radiesse may take 1–2 treatments depending on your goals and treatment plan.

The important thing? You don’t necessarily need to treat everything every time you come in. Your maintenance schedule should be based on your face, your goals, and how your previous treatment is holding up.

As an RN, BSN, and nurse injector, I didn’t just learn where to put a needle. My training and experience allow me to understand anatomy, assess a patient, recognize complications, make decisions in real time, and know what to do when something doesn’t go as planned.When you choose an injector, you should be looking for someone who is:

• A properly licensed medical professional
• Formally trained in injectable treatments
• Knowledgeable in facial anatomy and vascular structures
• Trained to recognize and manage complications
• Able to assess whether you are actually a good candidate for treatment
• Using appropriate products and techniques
• Practicing within their legal scope of practice
• Prioritizing your safety over getting the sale
• Continuing their education as techniques, products, and safety recommendations evolve

The risks of having injections performed by someone without the proper medical training are real. Poor technique can lead to infection, asymmetry, lumps, tissue damage, scarring, nerve injury, vascular occlusion, and in rare cases, permanent tissue loss, stroke, and/ or vision loss.

This is why I don’t take shortcuts EVER, and I don’t follow injection instructions generated by AI. AI can give you information but It cannot examine your face, understand your individual anatomy, assess your medical history, feel the tissue under the needle, or respond to a complication happening in real time.

When it comes to your face, please do your homework on your injector. Know who is holding the needle. Trusting a bot to guide you on a “HOW TO” is INSANE.
