Just a reminder ✨ Photographers, when is the last time you’ve been in front of the camera?

Some chapters don’t end because we stopped loving them. They end because life asked us to grow. 🤍

I’ve started this post about a hundred times, because I’m not quite sure how to put 12 years of memories into words.

For a long time, I have quietly neglected my photography business.

Not because I stopped loving photography.
Not because I stopped loving the people behind my camera.
And certainly not because the moments stopped being meaningful.

Life simply… happened.

When I started this journey back in 2014, I was just a girl with a camera and my two little ladies beside me, trying to turn something I loved into something more. I had no idea how many families I would meet, how many babies I would watch grow, how many engagements would turn into weddings, or how many ordinary moments would become treasured memories. Some of you have become lifelong friends.

Then came seasons of life I never could have planned for.

Medical challenges with Maddie changed our world and demanded my attention in ways I never expected. I faced my own medical challenges. There were jobs and new positions, moves, changing seasons, new responsibilities, and all of the beautiful—and sometimes incredibly hard—life changes that happen as our children grow and families evolve.

Somewhere along the way, photography became something I kept saying I would get back to.

“Soon.”

“When life settles down.”

“When things slow down.”

But life doesn't really slow down, does it?

And while I wasn't photographing as consistently as I once did, I never stopped being grateful for what this little business gave me and the people who supported me.

Countless families. Hundreds of stories. So many tiny newborns who became toddlers, toddlers who became big kids, families who grew, couples who became husbands and wives, then starting families and moments that I was incredibly honored to freeze in time.

And now, I think it's time to officially close this chapter.

It feels especially fitting that my final Florida photography session will be a wedding for people who met me way back when I was just starting! There is something incredibly special about ending this chapter with people who were there near the very beginning. 🥹🤍

So, this isn't really goodbye to photography.

It's goodbye to this version of my photography business.

And before I close the Florida chapter for good, I want to offer one last opportunity to anyone who has ever said, “We need to do pictures again.”

Thank you for recommending me to your friends.

Thank you for believing in a girl who started with a camera, two little ladies, and a dream in 2014.

I may be closing the business, but I will carry these memories with me forever.
