We had a request for a lavender patchouli bar soap and have intentions of being a soap factory over the next two weeks lol

Would anyone else be interested in a lavender patchouli bar soap?

We have offered this before, it is not a steady item on the website  and will probably be a one time batch until we can catch up with our regular bar soaps to be in stock.

Things will be getting back to normal next week!

Found a starfish this morning at low tide so I put him back in the water because he was still alive.
You can see where one of his legs was damaged and he is growing it back.👍🏻





I love these!

It is a type of fossilized bedrock that has pockmarks  due to wave, erosion and dissolving minerals. The colors range from tan, gray, yellow’s, and dark browns, depending on the staining from the phosphate layers in the bedrock. 
The rounded cavities remind me of honeycomb with fossilized coral blended in.
I have these around the house and use the indentions to apply 5 to 10 drops of an aromatic essential oil .
They make Lovely natural essential oil diffusers.
These rocks have some fossilized coral, agate veins and spots of chalcedony and loaded with minerals.
Very pretty to look at, certainly useful in my household and over millions of years old.
 I’ll be bringing a few more of these back with me should anyone be interested.

We’ve actually found three small megalodon‘s total within the family, which is very rare to find on the beach.

BYOS and decided on an elder flower bar soap, and the eucalyptus with pumice.
Found myself a lovely piece of prehistoric bedrock that works perfectly as a soap dish ❤️
This piece of stone dates back to the Miocene which is roughly 20-30 million years ago.😱

Elderberry syrup and elderberry tincture….whats the difference!?

Elderberry tincture and syrup differ mainly in concentration, shelf life, preference and ingredients.
Tinctures are gluten free alcohol based liquid concentrates that offer a long shelf life without the sugar.
Our elderberry syrup is sweet as it’s made with beneficial raw honey and Ceylon cinnamon.
The syrup must be kept in the refrigerator and is mostly preferred by children or those not wanting the alcohol.
The dosing is different with tinctures requiring about 30 drops per  use to where the syrup is a teaspoon to tablespoon.
Regarding the shelflife, the tinctures last easily five years and longer when stored in a cool place.
The syrups when kept in the refrigerator will last a good three months.
Absorption is also different between the two.
Tinctures absorb quickly into the bloodstream, about a minute or two, and mostly avoid the digestive system.
Syrups pass through the entire digestive system and take up to 20-40 minutes to be absorbed.
So how to choose?
Tinctures are convenient and without the sugar with a long shelflife and are fast acting and can travel with you.
Syrups are for young children or for those that prefer the additional benefits from the honey and cinnamon. It tastes good and it does offer a very soothing texture for the throat and tummy.
Additionally, you can add a few tinctures to the syrup such as the oregano or the echinacea to give it a boost, and still go down sweetly with a powerful punch. 💪🏻

Sea turtle nesting and hatching is a challenge this season.

Several of the nests have been waterlogged from the recent bad storms, predators are coming out at night and digging up a lot of the nests, but we’re also having several hatching successes.
The adult turtles are still coming up to lay their eggs, but so far I’ve only seen U-turns.
A sea turtle will come up to lay the eggs, but if it bumps into something or the conditions are not perfect, even though it’s ready to lay its eggs, it will turn right back around and go into the ocean.
One of the reasons while they’re very strict about porch lights, flashlights, and even using your iPhone on the beach is a big NO.
It confuses the turtles coming up to lay eggs , even from a distance.
Only special red lights are allowed.

Citronelle fly spray!

We were starting to get hammered by the teeny tiny mosquitoes that are hiding in our beach
garden so I had to bring out the big Guns! Lol 
I sprayed down all the furniture, underneath the table and and the surrounding sand area and they disappeared like magic.
