Hobbit Day is a name used for September 22 in reference to its being the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. Bilbo was born in the year of 2890 and Frodo in the year of 2968 in the Third Age (1290 and 1368 respectively in Shire-Reckoning).

The American Tolkien Society first proclaimed Hobbit Day and Tolkien Week in 1978, and defines them as this: "Tolkien Week is observed as the calendar week containing September 22, which is always observed as Hobbit Day".

A lot of people have had to start coloring their own hair. It’s not ideal for us as hair colorists. The economy affects us all. I have noticed a drop of 50% in my color services since last year. I am willing to offer hair color formulation services for those that still want to color their hair but can’t afford to pay to have it done.
