This is what recharging looks like for me. A weekend in Las Vegas, incredible food, beautiful moments with friends, and finally seeing Olivia Dean live.

What a dream. She was effortlessly elegant, her voice was mesmerizing, and she commanded the stage with so much grace. A true performer in every sense of the word. And her band? Absolutely magnificent. Every musician was exceptional, making the entire evening unforgettable.

This post is dedicated to celebrating another year of Gerardo’s dedication, growth, and commitment to Havana Salon.

From the moment Gerardo joined the Havana family, he has brought talent, heart, humility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He is the kind of person who shows up for his clients, his teammates, and our salon every single day. His positive attitude is contagious, his work ethic is unmatched, and his genuine care for others is something truly special.

It’s no surprise that Gerardo holds the record for the most 5-star reviews at Havana. His guests don’t just love their hair—they love the experience he creates. He has a remarkable ability to make every person who sits in his chair feel welcomed, valued, and confident. Time and time again, he goes above and beyond, and it shows.

Around Havana, we’ve affectionately nicknamed him “The Havana Godfather.” Not because he’s the loudest in the room, but because he’s the one everyone can count on. To create the perfect lived-in blonde, I finished with a Wella Base Breaker and cool gloss to soften the root area, melt away harsh lines, and create a natural, low-maintenance grow-out.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of our beloved salon mascot, Izzy — also known as Frizzy Izzy, Frizz, and our forever puppy.

As you can imagine, despite her old age, this loss is tremendous. Izzy was so much more than a salon dog. She was our greeter, lap warmer, best friend, and a cherished part of the Havana family. She had a special way of making every guest feel welcome and loved from the moment they walked through the doors of Havana Salon.

We can’t imagine moving forward without her sweet disposition, gentle spirit, and genuine love for every person who crossed our threshold. She brought comfort, smiles, and joy to so many, and her absence will be deeply felt.

To honor Izzy’s memory, we would love for you to share any photos, stories, or memories you have of her. Please tag Havana Salon so we can celebrate the life and love of a dog who touched so many hearts.

Thank you for loving our sweet girl as much as we did. She may be gone from our salon, but she will forever remain a part of Havana’s story.
