Okay, small business owners… we need to talk about these “Congratulations!” letters. 👀

I received one from BusinessRate saying Furliss was one of the top-rated businesses in my area. And YES—for a hot second, I was excited too. 😂

Then I started asking questions.

I didn’t enter anything. I didn’t apply. I wasn’t nominated. Their rankings use publicly available Google review data—and if I want the pretty plaque commemorating that ranking, I can purchase it.

Listen, I am DAMN proud of my five-star reviews. Those came from real clients, real appointments and years of work. ❤️

But I’m not paying someone else to congratulate me for them. 😂

So this isn’t me knocking another business owner who bought the plaque. It’s just your reminder to research what you actually “won” before pulling out your credit card.

One spatula covered the front of the lower leg. One strip took it off. And this time, I actually showed you the strip 😂

This one is emotional for me.

From my days at EWC, to waxing out of my house, to one storage unit and then another, to PEA Studios and now my new suite at PEA… every step has a story behind it.

People keep asking why I moved. There are a lot of reasons, but when I look back at this journey, the answer is simple: I’m still growing. I’ve worked too hard to stand still.

God has opened doors for me at every stage, and I’m grateful for every opportunity, every lesson, and every person who supported me along the way. Those who know what it took to get here know why this move means so much.

I don’t owe anyone an explanation for choosing growth. I’m proud of where I started, proud of what I’ve built, and excited for what’s next. 🤍

Clearly we have some work to do, but we had a freaking blast. 😂 Mom is my bestie and it’s always a good time when she comes to the studio. 🩵

Berodin was the wax I learned with almost 20 years ago when I first started my career in this industry… and now, all these years later, it’s become a staple back in my studio. Funny how things come back around. 🤎
