We had the privilege of guest speaking and sharing something we’re incredibly passionate about: the power of restorative ni**le tattooing after breast cancer.

For us, it’s about so much more than creating the appearance of a ni**le. It’s about giving women options, helping them feel more like themselves, and reminding them that restoration can look different for everyone. ✨

As nurses and restorative tattoo artists, we’re so grateful for opportunities like this to educate, connect, and bring more awareness to a service that can make such a meaningful difference in someone’s healing journey.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by people and organizations who share our passion for supporting the cancer community. 🫶

Some scars are easy to see. Others are hidden beneath clothing. But each one tells a story that goes far beyond what we see on the surface.

A hysterectomy scar to lower risk.
A DIEP flap scar from reconstruction.
A port scar from treatment.

Breast cancer leaves its mark in more places than we often talk about.

And while the world may look at these scars and see strength, resilience, or survival, we want you to see something else, too.

The beautiful women who carry them.

Women who are allowed to feel sexy. Confident. Feminine. Desired.

Women who don’t have to celebrate every scar or find a silver lining in everything they’ve endured.

Because scars can hold complicated feelings. They can be reminders of loss, healing, difficult decisions, and everything in between.

But they do not diminish beauty. They do not take away femininity. And they certainly do not define a woman’s worth.

These scars are part of their stories. But they are not the entirety of who they are.

And we think that’s something worth showing.

Stage IV breast cancer deserves more than awareness. It deserves action. Research. Funding. And more time.

For Terri, and every person living with metastatic breast cancer, the conversation cannot stop at early detection and survivorship.

Because when breast cancer becomes metastatic, there is currently no cure. And while treatments have advanced, we need more. More research. More treatment options. More clinical trials. More funding dedicated to the people living with this disease every single day.

Too often, metastatic breast cancer is left out of the spotlight, even though it is responsible for the overwhelming majority of breast cancer deaths.

These women deserve more than to be called brave. They deserve a future where science keeps moving forward, where treatment options don’t run out, and where more time means more birthdays, more milestones, and more ordinary days with the people they love.

For Terri. For Miya. For every person living with Stage IV breast cancer.

This October, we’re asking you to turn awareness into action. Support organizations funding metastatic breast cancer research. Advocate for more research dollars. Share their stories. Help make more time possible.

Meet Miya.

In 2019, Miya was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and a hysterectomy.

In 2024, her cancer returned. This time, it was Stage IV. And it had changed.

During our Inspiring AND Desired roundtable with Find Your EPIC AFter, Miya shared that she had recently experienced another progression.

“I’m so sorry, I just had a new progression, so it is hard to talk about it right now.”
That moment has stayed with us.

Behind every statistic about metastatic breast cancer is a person navigating the uncertainty of what comes next.

And for Miya, that uncertainty is happening right now.

Here’s something we need to talk about more:
According to METAvivor Research and Support Inc., from 2014–2020, only 13% of breast cancer research funding was devoted to metastatic breast cancer research.

THIRTEEN PERCENT.

When treatments stop working, people living with metastatic breast cancer need more options.

More therapies. More breakthroughs. More time.

And we cannot expect those breakthroughs without funding the research that makes them possible.

This October, we’re asking you to turn awareness into action:

👉 CancerCulture — A patient-led organization funding metastatic breast cancer research, with 100% of public donations directed to research.
