🧊 HOW TO SAFELY DEPRESSURIZE A CANDELA GENTLEMAX PRO® CRYOGEN CANISTER

Proper DCD™ cryogen canister disposal is an important part of laser safety. Always follow current Candela manufacturer instructions and your local disposal requirements.

⚠️ For EMPTY canisters with only residual cryogen remaining:

1️⃣ Take the canister to an outdoor or well-ventilated area and wear protective eyewear and insulated/thermal gloves.

2️⃣ Make sure the Candela venting valve is CLOSED before attaching it.

3️⃣ Screw the venting valve onto the canister.

4️⃣ Keep the canister upright with the valve AT THE TOP and pointed away from yourself and others.

5️⃣ Slowly open the valve to release the remaining cryogen and pressure. Candela instructs shaking the canister while emptying to help release the remaining contents.

6️⃣ Once COMPLETELY empty and depressurized, remove the venting valve and save it for future use.

🏷️ Read the canister label before handling. After the canister is completely empty, follow your local waste/recycling requirements regarding the label and final disposal.

🚨 Never puncture, crush, burn, heat, or attempt to dispose of a pressurized canister. A canister containing more than residual cryogen should be handled through appropriate hazardous-waste procedures.

Always refer to the current Candela instructions and SDS for your specific cryogen canister.

How to turn on and prepare the Candela GentleMax Pro® laser hair removal system ⚡️🌸

In laser training, learning your equipment starts before the first pulse. Students should understand proper system startup, safety checks, treatment parameters, Fitzpatrick skin typing, wavelength selection, cooling, and manufacturer protocols before performing laser hair removal.

Our training uses the Candela GentleMax Pro, a dual-wavelength platform featuring 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology. Understanding when and how each wavelength is used is an important part of providing safe, effective laser hair removal across different skin types.
