Your body is much less interested in our neat anatomical categories than we are.
Today we’re following a mechanical connection from your upper body, across your back, all the way to the opposite hip.
And yes—we can actually measure it. 🔬

Meet one very cool cross-body connection:
Latissimus dorsi → thoracolumbar fascia → opposite gluteus maximus.
Both the latissimus dorsi and gluteus maximus have extensive connections with the thoracolumbar fascia, creating a potential pathway for force to travel between them.
Anatomical research has even demonstrated tension crossing to the contralateral side through this fascial system.
Right lat ↘ left glute.
Left lat ↘ right glute.
But anatomy showing a connection is one thing.
Does force actually travel through it in a living human?
Oh yes. Keep swiping.

This is where it gets properly FASCIA-nating.
Researchers tested 37 people while changing tension in the latissimus dorsi and measuring the opposite hip.
When participants actively contracted the lat, the opposite hip’s resting position shifted toward lateral rotation and its passive stiffness increased.
They changed tension in one region.
And measured a mechanical change somewhere else.
That’s called myofascial force transmission.
And this wasn’t just one strange experiment: a later study in 54 people again found that contracting the lat changed the resting position, passive torque and stiffness of the opposite hip.

Okay. Your turn.
Do you have:
One shoulder that always feels tight?
An opposite hip that feels restricted?
A low back that repeatedly complains?
That does not mean one is necessarily causing the other.
But looking only at the place you feel the symptom can miss part of the mechanical picture.
And here’s an especially interesting clue:
A 2025 study found this lat-to-opposite-glute myofascial force transmission was reduced in people with chronic low-back pain compared with controls.
Not proof of cause.
Evidence that the relationship itself can differ. 👀

Sometimes the shift is immediate.
You get off the table and walk differently.
Stand taller.
Breathe deeper.
Sometimes, the pain you walked in with doesn’t walk back out with you.
Re-embodiment isn’t a treatment outcome.
It’s a homecoming.
And once you feel it, you’ll never settle for less again.

There is a version of wellness that treats the symptom and calls it a day.
And then there is the work of actually coming home to yourself.
Fully, on your own terms, in a body that finally feels like yours.
Sapien Soul exists at that intersection.
Where the science of your nervous system meets the wisdom of your whole self.
Where nothing about you is treated in isolation, because nothing about you exists in isolation.
This is integrated wellbeing.
And it changes everything.

Most of us were never taught to live in our bodies.
We were taught to manage them.
Push through them.
Apologize for them.
And somewhere in all that management, we lost the thread back to ourselves.
Our instincts.
Our desires.
The quiet knowing of which direction was actually ours.
This is where it starts.
Not with a diagnosis.
Not with a protocol.
With the recognition that disconnection was something your system learned for a reason...and that return can be learned, too.
Finding your way back is not only possible.
It’s what you were built for.

You’re not tired. You’re dysregulated.
Tired responds to sleep. Dysregulation responds to something else entirely.
The Exhale is 90 minutes of intentional nervous system restoration. Starting with a warm rose petal and eucalyptus aromatherapy foot soak, seated massage through the scalp, neck, shoulders, and feet, closing with a craniosacral session that coaxes your central nervous system to stop bracing, and simply sink.
If you’ve been running so fast you can’t catch your breath — this is your exhale.
