HALO Recovery: Day 0 → Day 5 ✨

What is HALO?

HALO is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, meaning it combines two wavelengths in a single treatment:

✨ 1470 nm (non-ablative): Heats the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen, improve tone and texture, reduce redness, and soften fine lines—with less downtime.

✨ 2940 nm Er:YAG (ablative): Creates tiny microchannels in the skin to remove damaged surface cells, improving sun damage, pigmentation, enlarged pores, acne scars, and overall skin quality.

By combining both technologies, HALO delivers dramatic skin rejuvenation with significantly less downtime than traditional fully ablative lasers.

What to expect after treatment:
• Day 0: Redness and warmth (similar to a sunburn)
• Day 1: Redness peaks and tiny dark “MENDs” (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) become more visible
• Days 2–3: Skin feels rough or like sandpaper as damaged cells begin to shed
• Days 4–5: Pigment flakes away, redness fades, and fresh, glowing skin is revealed

Results continue to improve over the next 3–6 months as new collagen forms.

That “immediately after” photo? That’s not the final result — it’s swelling, and it’s completely normal.

Here’s what’s actually happening in each photo:
✨Before — her natural lip, a little dehydrated, borders less defined.
✨Immediately after — this is water retention and normal post-injection swelling talking, not the filler itself. Lips can look fuller, sometimes uneven side-to-side, and a little firm to the touch. This is the phase that gets people worried they went “too big” — they didn’t. Give it time.
✨ 4 weeks later — this is the real result. The swelling has fully resolved, the filler has integrated and softened into the tissue, and what you’re left with is balance — not a dramatic change, just her lips, supported and a little more hydrated-looking.

Her goal was was subtle volume and support — the kind that makes people say “did you do something?” instead of announcing it.

A few things that actually help with swelling + bruising:

Before:
— Skip alcohol, fish oil, and NSAIDs (ibuprofen/aspirin) for a few days prior if you can — they thin the blood and increase bruising risk
— Arnica tablets or gel starting a day or two before can take the edge off

After:
— Ice, ice, ice — in short intervals for the first 24-48 hours
— Keep sleeping elevated for the first night or two
— Stay off the treated area (no aggressive touching, massaging, or makeup application for the rest of the day)
— Hydrate — swelling resolves faster when you’re not dehydrated
— Give it the full 2 weeks before judging symmetry or size — the first few days are the least accurate preview of your result

This is why we don’t judge a result at the one-hour mark. Patience is part of the process. ✨
