Estrogen keeps vaginal tissue thick, well-vascularized, and rich in glycogen — the fuel source for protective Lactobacillus bacteria. Those bacteria keep vaginal pH acidic and crowd out the E. coli and other bacteria that cause UTIs. When estrogen drops, that protective system breaks down: pH rises, good bacteria decline, and UTI-causing bacteria move in more easily.

And as we age, the stakes get higher. Older immune systems respond more slowly, so a UTI can progress to a kidney infection or bloodstream infection faster and with less warning. In older adults, the first sign of a UTI often isn’t burning or urgency — it’s sudden confusion, a fall, or new agitation. I’m a goofball and always up for making someone laugh. I’ve always had a natural eye for anything aesthetic, with a love for creating beautiful things and helping women look + feel like the best versions of themselves.

That passion started with my first business, Microblading Santa Barbara, grew into Pierced Santa Barbara, and eventually led me to co-founding our third business (and newest baby), Renew Room. 🤍

Relationships matter most to me- I love deeply. I have a husband, 3 daughters, and a chocolate lab. I love to learn and try new things especially related to experiences and food.

Clinically, I’ve spent 15+ years in practice, and I’ve always been drawn to the connection between what’s happening inside and showing up on the outside. This is the whole philosophy behind my practice at Renew Room- healthy on the inside, beautiful and confident on the outside. My focus has grown into functional medicine, women’s hormonal health and aesthetic medicine because I’m tired of judgment and industry norms. I want to break the mold and bridge the gaps.
