East Palo Alto stop in Hayward to East Oakland — they brought the heat! 🔥 Mixing rap, reggae, and R&B with real energy and real love. Had the honor of catching them rock the stage at the historic Samoa vs. Tonga youth football event in San Jose. The youth are feeling this wave! 🎤🏈
I have experience a lot of grief the past couple of weeks. Today I took a break for my grief I danced. I hung out. I enjoy the sun. Sometimes you have to take breaks from grief or it will consume you. I’m not saying to ignore or to avoid, but just to take a break.

Juneteenth in East Palo Alto, CA.❤️🖤💚
I'm Tongan, and I ain't never claimed to be Black. But if you know East Palo Alto back in the day, then you know. I was raised in a city that was predominantly Black, and that culture helped shape me in real life.
The music, the food, the slang, the block parties, the aunties who'd check you, the OGs who'd game you up, the way folks looked out for each other—that was the environment I grew up in. Those experiences are real, and they'll always be a part of my story.
So when I pull up for Juneteenth, it's all love and respect. Not because I'm trying to claim something that ain't mine, but because I'm honoring a community that loved on me and helped raise me.
EPA forever got a place in my heart. Love seeing the city still showing up and showing out. If you from the town, you already know. Much love to everybody keeping the culture alive. ✊🏾❤️

Caroline. 2 years and 9 months younger than I am. She and I came to America together with my parents (my brothers were raised in Tonga, Alice wasn’t born yet). We came to Ontario, CA then the Bay Area. The two of us. My one. I had her as my only sibling for 7 years. We traveled a lot of rocky roads, had times we didn’t talk; only to make our relationship healthier and solid. I admire your strength, resolve, no nonsense approach to life. A talented vocalist whose soulful, angelic tone heals broken hearts and can bring people to dance and rejoice. A hustler, who in high school worked two jobs and did odd tasks to help my parents. Your laser focus; sacrificed your dreams to now reap all the blessings you have! Disciplined, good at anything she pursues. My sister. My sister. Happy Birthday Caroline! I love you.

A huge thank you to **Roxanne Rutherford** for cooking all that amazing food! Everything was delicious.
Spending time with my cousins was the best part of the day. We caught up, shared hugs, enjoyed great food, watched the fireworks, and made more wonderful memories together.
