Ouidad, The Curl Experts, is seeking a talented Hair Stylist to join our upscale full-service flagship salon in Santa Monica. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a team approach and must be self-motivated. We place education at the core of everything we do and are devoted to educating our stylists and customers about the unique needs and solutions for naturally curly hair. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2+ years experience, should be an incredible colorist, possess a solid foundation of hair cutting skills and have a passion for all curl types. We are searching for a stylist that is driven, motivated, loyal, has a good work ethic and is ready to be fast tracked to learn the Ouidad Cutting, Color and Styling Techniques. It's a great opportunity to grow your clientele, as well as an opportunity to participate in Ouidad photo shoots, product development and our educational program.

Requirements:
Valid license from California State of Cosmetology
Minimum of 2-5 years experience
Knowledgeable in Redken color a PLUS
Must love curls! And be comfortable with highly textured hair. We will teach you the Ouidad way, but a foundation with texture is beneficial.

Skills:
Successful experience as a Stylist, including hair cutting, coloring and styling
Must be nice!
Growth mindset
Educator background a plus
Interested in up & coming trends
Team player
Great with time management

Responsibilities include:

- Answer daily phone calls and book appointments; quickly and efficiently respond to inquiries from clients

- Ensure the highest level of customer service; retain clients through building positive relationships and creating a luxury environment that maintains and exceeds Ouidad standards of excellence

- Recommend best services and products based on client needs

- Analyze and resolve customer concerns using established procedures and policies; organize and track all complaints

- Ensure that the Ouidad brand is maintained through product knowledge, corporate brand alignment, and enforcement of salon policies and procedures

- Effectively assist with managing the team, including hiring, motivating staff and being a positive leader

- Track daily, weekly, monthly, annual business performance and update stylist/salon goals; reporting the financial health to Salon Management weekly

- Support Salon Management in the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of Salon and Staff including assisting in performance evaluations, running financial reports, and managing staff concerns as needed

- Weekly check-ins with Salon Management to update on staff/client issues, weekly task list, and other on-going projects or issues

- Ensure that all cosmetology guidelines are upheld

- Send out staff communications, including but not limited to goals, reminders, upcoming meetings, and all-staff events

- Conduct all new hire training for front desk, housekeeping, and assistants, in partnership with Salon Management

- Managing daily salon operations, including but not limited to inventory management, equipment repair, general salon maintenance, and administrative support

- Responsible for knowing and implementing all opening/closing procedures; key-holder

- Support salon during working hours, sweeping, assisting with towels, serving guests while salon assistants are on break or absent as needed (being a team player!)

- Master Envision POS program to best utilize salon, stylist and client data (training provided)

- Manage Client database through yearly updates of client information; ensure and verify that all detailed client information is noted in booking system

- Proficient in Microsoft Office a plus
