This is a special moment in *The Woman Behind the Mirror* that I simply couldn't wait to share.

Friday, May 31st, 2026, became a milestone that deserved to be written into my memoir.

While my memoir will continue to unfold as planned, some moments deserve to become part of the story the moment they happen. This is one of them.

When I shared my story with Trelice in the community page, "You are probably from or Lived in HINESVILLE if you remember.....", I never imagined what would happen next. Virginia DeLoach read that story, reached out to me, and booked an appointment at Enchanting Salon Boutique because she felt drawn to what she had read.

She became the very first person to walk through my salon doors because of *The Woman Behind the Mirror*.

This moment will always be part of my memoir because it reminds me that stories have a way of bringing people together. They reconnect us with memories that may have been left in memory or simply left unspoken, while also allowing people to see the person behind Enchanting Salon Boutique in a way they never had before.

For me, this is more than welcoming a new guest into my salon. It is seeing my memoir do exactly what I had hoped it would do—bringing a community together through shared memories, meaningful conversations, and allowing people to know that the person behind Enchanting Salon Boutique has been part of this community for many years.

The story will continue as planned, but this moment deserved to become part of it the moment it happened.

That shift in perspective changes the way you respect the profession itself, teaches you the importance of quality control, and helps you understand how the decisions you make every day affect the salon you work in—or, if you own one yourself, become part of your business's profit and loss.

This week's reflection is about that transition.

A Nostalgic Moment Full- Circle Moment. The Woman Behind the Mirror.

We've just journeyed together through 1990 at the Thunderbird Swap Shop. Before we turn to the next page to this chapter, I'd like to pause the memoir for a moment and bring you back to the present—2026—for a nostalgic full-circle moment.

Just a few days ago, I reunited with Trelice, who had done my hair 45 years ago. Earlier in the memoir, I mentioned that, as a young girl, I had my hair done in a four-chair salon.

Today, I'd like to bring you back to that little salon.

Its name was Virginia's Hair Salon on Gause Street, across from Bradwell Institute.

It was there that I first met Trelice. She became my hairdresser after Marcia, my regular hairdresser, left the salon.

Neither of us could have imagined that forty-five years later, she would be sitting in my chair, our roles reversed, sharing that very story herself.
