Nostalgia Studio
Your one-stop salon for color, cuts, extensions, nails & wedding hair + makeup.
TRUST us, we love to hear it all! A client who drops insane lore on their first visit is a client who feels comfortable, safe, and just like one of us 😘 So lucky to have so many clients who feel right at home here at Nostalgia
Out of everything I’ve learned behind the chair… blowouts will forever be my favorite🤫
Color is exciting. Extensions are life.
But my signature Brigitte Bardot blowout?
That’s the part that makes everyone go, “OKAYYY.” 😮💨
It’s literally the icing on the cake…
After I finish my clients color, my favorite part is topping it off with a big, bouncy blowout. Seeing that little confidence switch flip when they look in the mirror? That’s the best part EVERY SINGLE TIME 🫠
So here’s me teaching Olivia 🪲 my signature blowout
with a little education, a little chaos, and a whole lot of hair flipping. 🪩💁🏼♀️
POV: You accidentally turned your obsession into a career.

As we’re coming up on our one year anniversary of opening Nostalgia Studio and we’ve gotten to know you all so well, we thought you might want to get to know us a little better, too 😜
Our next staff member is also our newest! Fresh faced to cosmetology school and joining us as part of our Associate Program, the wonderful and whimsical Kami! 𝒦𝒶𝓂𝒾 𝒟𝑜𝓃𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽
Q: What inspired your desire to start a career in cosmetology?
A: I’ve always loved hair, I’ve taught myself and others how to do their curly hair, I’ve watched countless YouTube videos from childhood of makeup tutorials, hairstyles, and facials that have just been so fun. But it wasn’t until I saw pictures of my great grandmother in the 60s in her beauty shop that I felt I could do the same! I felt inspired by her!
Q: What services are you looking forward to mastering during your education?
A: I’m ready to try/learn everything but one thing that I’m very interested in learning is textured hair and braids. The culture behind especially afro-textured hair and the artistry of it is so beautiful!
Q: What’s your favorite snacks or drinks to help you through those study sessions and class days?
A: Gotta have an iced coffee/latte and something crunchy!(And my emotional support water bottle!😝)
Q: If you were in charge of the aux all day, what music would you be blasting?
A: I guess it just depends on my mood that day, but I love a good well rounded playlist! A little bit everything!
Q: What book, movie, or TV show are you loving lately?
A: I’m so obsessed with One Tree Hill right now!!

Continuing on with our Salon Manager and Apprentice to Mariah Pruden, our resident blonde bombshell, Olivia!
Q: What made you decide to get involved in the world of cosmetology?
A. I’ve been doing hair and makeup as a side hustle since I was about 16, and after over a decade of trying out different professions, I decided to give my one passion that’s never left me a real shot ☺️
Q: Once you’re a licensed professional, what are you wanting to specialize in?
A. I’ve always had a deep love for extreme, off the wall vivids. Anything that’s not “normal” haha. And I’m ridiculously lucky that my mentor Mariah is our literal cutting specialist, so I get to learn at the hands of the master how to be an all around alternative stylist!
Q:What’s it like being an apprentice and the salon manager at the same time?
A. Not as tricky as it might sound! We’re a salon built on mutual respect and growth. In the same way that I respect I’m learning from the ground up as a student, my stylists respect that this bossy Virgo can take charge and get things done on the management side.
Q: What’s the go-to station you start the salon with for the day?
A. Might seem a little out of character but it’s almost always Limp Bizkit . . . Mysty won’t let me play Insane Clown Posse.
Q:What show or movie do you unwind with after playing double duty at the salon?
A. It’s either a true crime documentary or American Dad . . . Rarely any in-between.

Up next is our wonderful stylist, specializing in reds, extensions, and curly cuts, Jess! Jessica Andrews
Q: How long have you been in the industry, and what inspired your love of cosmetology?
A: “I’ve been in the industry for 2 years! I’ve always wanted to be a hairstylist but was pushed into a different first career. Once I had my son, I knew I needed to set an example for him and follow my dreams! And I could not be happier 😍.”
Q: What’s your absolute favorite service to provide and why?
A: “Reds are so satisfying and I love coming up with new formulas and getting to use my creative side! I also love extensions because I love seeing the change in my clients when they get that confidence boosting new look 🥹”
Q: What’s is your favorite snack on those busy salon days?
A: “CHOMPS Beef Sticks. All. Day. Lol.”
Q: If only YOU were in charge of the Aux, what would be playing in the salon all day?
A: “Divorced Dad Rock. Especially System of a Down 🙂↕️”
Q: What is a go-to comfort movie to unwind with after a full day of taking care of clients?
A: “It doesn’t matter what time of year, what the weather is like, no movie or show compares to The Office. BOOM, roasted!”
