One of the biggest misconceptions is assuming Botox and filler are the same thing. Fillers are quite different from neurotoxins in that fillers are meant to add volume, while neurotoxin’ primary function is freezing/relaxing muscles.

A lip flip is performed by injecting small amounts of neurotoxin into the muscles above the upper lip which control how far up the lip goes while smiling. This causes the muscle to relax, which then results in the top lip subtly curling upwards, creating a fuller appearance.

If it was by choice, no patient of mine would ever bruise. However, it's not that simple. Based on my knowledge of facial anatomy and skill when it comes to injecting, I do everything possible to prevent bruising. We can also discuss precautions to take before and after your appointment to continue minimizing the possibility of bruising! 💋
