Hi, I’m John, one of the neuro prelims! I chose to come to the UW because I was blown away on my interview day by the opportunity to train in a program with such clinical breadth, amazing resources for pursuing research, all in a supportive and welcoming environment. Everybody I met with on interview day was kind, excited to be at UW, and genuinely interested in getting to know me beyond ERAS. I continue to feel this way as I meet more people in person in the program. I may be West Coast born (San Francisco), but I am East Coast raised, all the way through med school. My partner, Annie, and I were excited to come to a place where we could spend as much time outside (skiing, biking, hiking, walking, disc golfing, etc) as possible, and so far, Seattle has not disappointed!

Its Wednesday which means all 3 of our inpatient ARNPs are in house!

These absolute GEMS OF HUMAN BEINGS are such an asset to our inpatient team!

Not only do they help with daily tasks but they also are a source of education/experience, they act as lesions with ancillary staff, and they provide tons of comic relief!

Our neurons got together yesterday for the program’s Fall Retreat to try their hand at some axe throwing!

We have various resident retreats planned throughout the year where residents can get together on the programs dollar for a little meet up and a lot of fun!
