Who is doing your research? Are you out there digging through licenses, checking for qualifications and real life reviews from other patients? When you think you’ve done your research, do more. You deserve not only the best results, but the most knowledgeable care team with all the appropriate credentials. There are too many unqualified people out there just looking to take your money and run. Do your due diligence before making a decision on not only a surgeon, but also your recovery team. Ask all the questions. If they dodge or redirect and you don’t get the right answers, keep looking. 🥰
As always, let me know if I can help you in your recovery journey!

Adley DaSilva, the Stuart man found guilty of performing cosmetic surgery without a license, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.
DaSilva was operating as a physician's assistant but performing surgeries he wasn't licensed to do. Multiple patients were left with permanent scars and trauma from botched procedures at the now-closed Port St. Lucie clinic.
So when I tell you girls to make sure your surgeons are board certified and that your plastic surgery recovery specialists are licensed providers (LMT’s, nurses) who have received accredited training in manual lymphatic drainage (Vodder Method) and are not trying to work out of their scope of practice doing things like incisional drainage, seroma drainage and using machines they have no business using on your body right after plastic surgery… this is why. Many. And I do mean MANY of the “post op professionals” out there not only have no actual license to work on the body, but they have either been internet trained or worse have been (at best) hoodwinked into spending thousands of dollars on illegal courses (at worst, knowingly doing so).
I am posting in the comments a video blog interviewing a licensed nurse who in the interest of more knowledge to help her clients during recovery was hoodwinked and then attacked by the same “school” and ended up losing her license (not because she was doing anything wrong) but because an unlicensed training provider took issue with her saying “no thanks, I want no part of your shenanigans, I’m going to work in my scope” and decided to ruin her career by reporting her to her state nursing board. Long story short, the nurse has her license back after way too many shenanigans almost costing her her home and business (not to mention her license and a smear on her good name), and said illegal training provider is being investigated for a host of illegal practices including falsifying a training program and accreditation documents.
I say all this because I want to impress on you the importance of making sure the person helping you with your plastic surgery recovery is a licensed massage therapist or licensed nurse (I believe PT’s & OT’s are also able to take MLD training as well and obviously doctors, however they are usually busy doctoring and don’t get into the hands on modalities).
Full Disclaimer. This girl is PI**ED. (Rightfully so.) There is a LOT of sporadic profanity throughout the video, so if you don’t want to hear all of her rage, there are news stories out there about Nurse Steph in Maryland that might be a better fit. However, this girl pulled herself up, learned what she needed to learn to help and advocate for herself (since nobody else was going to do it) and provided undeniable proof that she is right.
If you or someone you know is looking for help after plastic surgery, please contact me and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about how I can help in the recovery process. 🥰
