🩷 FOR KATIE 🩷

One of our original Rumors stylists was tragically taken from us Tuesday night, and I am completely heartbroken.

Katie Miller had the kindest heart. She was empathetic toward every client she sat with. She genuinely cared about people and had a way of making everyone around her feel seen and understood.

And Katie had the best sense of humor. 😂 She was smart, incredibly quick-witted, and oh my gosh… that girl could make me laugh.

I never stopped rooting for you.

What makes this loss especially difficult is knowing that Katie was the reason I started Rumors.

There was a time when I had a terrible experience working at a “high-end” salon in town. I was so discouraged and hurt that I swore I would never step foot inside a salon again.

Then, one day, Katie called me.

She told me about a possible lease takeover in a tiny space off First Street in Selah. We started talking about what it could become and dreamed about creating something different—a salon where stylists uplifted one another instead of competing with each other.

A place where we could encourage and support one another and change the atmosphere of what a salon could feel like.

That tiny space became the beginning of Rumors.

Today, that vision still stands.

The biggest and most important thing I wanted for Rumors—and something Katie believed in too—was to create a safe haven for stylists and clients.

Katie was part of the foundation of that dream.

Her heart, her humor, her talent, and the conversations we shared about what we wanted this place to become will always be woven into the story of Rumors.

I wish I could tell you one more time how much I believed in you, how many times I was still rooting for you, and how much you meant to me—and to the beginning of something that has become such a huge part of my life.

Thank you, Katie, for being the reason I took that first step.

I will carry that with me always.
