Can't tell me different 🤣

Fall is hitting hard guys. This gloomy weather has me getting loopy. 🤪
This is one of my alarms in the morning. What do you wake up to?

In 2024, I almost didn't go to Shangri-La. My mom wasn't doing well, & I felt like I should stay home.

Mom told me, “No! Go!”
So I went.

That Sunday at Shangri-La, I ended up having one of those beautiful conversations you never forget. We talked about our families, we cried, & I told her about Mom & how scared I was.

Later that night, this woman came up to me with a scared look on her face. As she bent down to talk to me, before she could really say anything, I told her, “I know. I felt it.”

I knew when I got home I was going to check on Mom immediately.

Of course Mom was going to want to smell me after a festival anyway. 😂❤️ She loved my funky festival hair.

When I got home, I knew this would be the last time we called for an ambulance.
And it was.

My mom made it 80 years this time around. ❤️ Married for 50 years, had four beautiful children, 5 amazing grad & taught me more about life than I think I'll ever be able to put into words.

I couldn't go back to Shangri-La in 25. I needed that year. I needed to grieve her & figure out what life looked like without her here. I needed to figure out how I was supposed to keep moving forward.

Come 2026.

This year isn't about “moving on.” It's about carrying her with me while I move forward. It's about making her proud & showing her what she taught me. How to love people, show up, work hard, laugh loudly, take care of each other, create, & most importantly… LIVE.

Somewhere inside that dome this year, surrounded by this crazy, beautiful framly of mine, I had this overwhelming feeling that I was exactly where I was supposed to be, with exactly the people I was supposed to be with.

I can be Me here. I can laugh until my i hurts. I can cry. I can create. I can get my hands dirty. I can talk about my insecurities, my grief, the hard s**t & the beautiful s**t. I can feel joy again. It can all exist together.

Maybe that's one of the biggest things Mom taught me. Life keeps giving us reasons to love people, take care of each other, laugh loudly & LIVE while we're here.

She told me to go in 24.
I couldn't do it in 25.
But in 26, I went back & I think she'd be really fu***ng proud of me.
