My last half IM. It was such a bittersweet feeling. I crossed the line. As you can see, I am holding this girls hand or maybe she was holding mine. I can’t tell you her name because I can’t remember it, the date was 7/28/2019. What I can tell you my life changed for ever that day. I watched a sweet lady just less than a half a block away from me get hit by a semi truck. She didn’t make it. I can hear the medical team doing their best to save her. I was the only one who saw the truth. The media lied, but my eyes did not. I knew to get out of the medics way , I finished this race and cried the whole way. I told the Lord, “ please don’t take her if she doesn’t know you!” He did take her and come to find out she did know the Lord. I wish I could find this lady holding my hand, she has no idea God sent me her to cross that line. That’s the beautiful thing about triathlon, we are all there to do Epic things not just for ourselves but for others. RIP Kristen J. Oswald, i think of you every time this year and many other days
