I only perform chemical peels as part of a treatment plan. I care way too much about the integrity of your skin to just throw a peel on it. If I don’t feel like your skin barrier is strong enough, I will absolutely say, “Let’s wait a sec.” A great esthi knows when to say NO!

If you want the benefits of a chemical peel but do NOT want the dramatic shedding, tell your esthi! There are so many effective peel options that can give beautiful results without having you walking around looking like a snake shedding lol

A common question I get in the treatment room is, “When should I allow my daughter to start waxing?”

Truthfully, that decision is between you and your baby. 🩷 I think healthy conversations about self-love, hygiene, body hair, and personal choice play a huge part.

My advice? When the hair actually starts to bother her…if it ever does….then that’s a good time to discuss safe hair-removal options. And I’m not talking about Brazilians. I mean areas like the underarms, brows, or facial hair.

My daughter is 9 and, as a dancer, she recently told me she was ready to try her first underarm wax. We’ve already had conversations about hygiene, body hair, self-love, and protecting the integrity of her skin.

I started shaving without telling my mom and ended up with cuts, ingrowns, and hyperpigmentation. So I’m grateful I get to teach my baby how to care for her skin the right way.
