1 Hour to sharpen 12 blades on average.

Pre- Inspection
Blow off loose fur and dirt
Clean dander off combs with power brush.
Disassemble
Sharpen
Check a few blades on a flat check plate for proper hollow grind.
De-magnetize
De-burr each cutter and comb
Spray with alcohol and blow off
Clean each spring and socket.
Check each plastic guide / replace if needed.
Pre assemble with lightly screw tension.
Align cutter to comb for proper set back.
Final Tightening.
Run each blade through a string and fur cut test.
Check spring tension adjust if need then recheck set back.
Blow off and oil with start up oil.

If any blade does not cut the diagnostic proceedures start.

On no brand blades they can take longer to get them to work properly and you’ll dull them fast due to their soft steel.

If time allows and it’s not freezing out a large ultra sonic cleaners used.

Sharpening some of the largest fabric shears I’ve seen in a long time.

First sharpening of an Andis Wide blade. See the step on the second rail. That’s not supposed to be like that. Check your blades. I’ve only seen one so far.

Some times the sharpener has to get Magnification out to find issues. Tips of these salon shears were catching hair. When the blades are put on a dead flat check plate you can see the tip of the shear is worn away. Needs adjusting, possibly shortening the tips of the shears ever so slightly. Each blade has a slight bow that creates a positive set pressure against the opposing blade. Reason you see light between the blades when closed fully.

Rebuilding no.40 blades with broken teeth with brand new combs for a great customer.

The beginning of the 107 blades I think she said. A too go order, deliver as I get them done.

The tool sharpeners use to check and set the socket ears. If blades wobble these ears are to far out of adjustment. After the setting tool is used it may be a little hard to install your blade. Once you install it though the ears are in perfect alignment to your clipper. In time the ears can fatigue and break off requiring replacement of the socket.

Not only shears and clipper blades! I do knives too.
