Plant-rich skincare rituals, made slowly in our studio. Created to help you listen to your skin and care for your body from a place of trust.

H Is For Love was created to be a vehicle by which to share the benefits of utilizing nature's gifts in the spirit of purity. Skincare, however, is just one element of what H IS FOR LOVE is about. It is a way of life to pare down and simplify. It is about freedom, beauty, and quality over compromise. Embracing this philosophy is at the core of creating every H product.

I’m obsessed with large, structural bars of cold-process soap.
I’m obsessed with moments that feel like an entire universe.
I’m obsessed with anything Japanese.

Now you know me incredibly deeply.

There are moments like this all around us. You can curate your life to have them. I think that’s why this life is so confounding and perfect. It’s exactly what we make of it.

And on that note, a reminder:

Your great mistake is to act the drama as if you were alone. As if life were a progressive and cunning crime with no witness to the tiny hidden transgressions.

To feel abandoned is to deny the intimacy of your surroundings.

Surely, even you, at times, have felt the grand array; the swelling presence, and the chorus, crowding out your solo voice.

You must note the way the soap dish enables you, or the window latch grants you freedom.

Alertness is the hidden discipline of familiarity.
The stairs are your mentor of things to come, the doors have always been there to frighten you and invite you, and the tiny speaker in the phone is your dream-ladder to divinity.

Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into the conversation.

The kettle is singing even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots have left their arrogant aloofness and seen the good in you at last.

All the birds and creatures of the world are unutterably themselves.

Everything is waiting for you.

Because what makes H different happens long before we ever fill the jar.

How do you nourish yourself?

Lately I’ve noticed some of my healthiest habits quietly fell away. Summer was FULL. Travel, kids, H, an intensive course, life. I still eat clean. I still take care of my skin. Numero uno. But I’ve been staying up too late, not prioritizing protein, and somehow stopped lifting weights.

Yesterday I decided to return to what I know grounds me. As a woman solidly in perimenopause, my non-negotiables are pretty simple:

Protein-forward meals. 8 to 9 hours of sleep. 10k steps. 20 minutes of strength work, 5 days a week.

Nothing extreme. Nothing short-term. I’m not trying to optimize myself into oblivion. I’m trying to build a life that feels good to live in.

Consistency over intensity. Nourishment over correction.

What are your non-negotiables?

Your lips are needy by design.

The skin on our lips has no sebaceous glands of its own, so sometimes that beautiful pout needs a little help staying soft.

The delicate skin beneath the eyes is similarly low on oil production, which is why many estheticians who use H reach for LIP CONDITIONER there too.

Under eyes. Lips. Cuticles. Anywhere asking for a little extra tenderness.

Love a product that earns its place on the shelf. Minimalist, baby.

Fall hit hard this year. Did you notice?

Almost as if nature understands our imposed calendar of events, we went from warm summer walks in the evening to chilly streets full of school buses and backpacks.

Oddly, for being a complete sun worshipper, I’m welcoming the shift. It’s time to sow more clover that will emerge in the spring. Time to turn inward a bit. To formulate spiced soaps and holiday delights for our upcoming gifting season. To get ready to welcome you all into the H studio for our holiday party.

But I’m not ready to let go of these.

LOZEN and HATHOR arrived as limited-edition scents, but I’m not quite sure I want to live without them. And I know many of you feel that too.

HATHOR is sensual and deep. Honestly, one of the sexiest scents I’ve ever experienced. Sandalwood, vanilla, cardamom.

LOZEN is androgynous and woody, with the brightness of palo santo, lime and Peru balsam.

They’re perfect for every season. So we decided to make another large batch of each. They’re marrying and aging now, and will be ready once we’re solidly into fall.

Nature knows we need citrus in winter. It knows we need the season to turn inward so we can bloom again in spring.

And H knows you need LOZEN and HATHOR.
