Summer may have just started, but we're already deep in fall planning around here!

This week, 990 pounds of soapmaking oils arrived at Milk & Sugar, including coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, and castor oil. These are the ingredients that become your favorite fall products.
Our little shop doesn't quite have room for a pallet of oils, so I loaded up the car and made a few trips to our storage space.

It's hard to believe we're already thinking about pumpkin, apples, spices, and all things cozy, but that's the season we're in behind the scenes.

One of our favorite fragrances is growing!
Previously available only in soy candles, Arkansas Sunrise is now available in Artisan Soap, Room + Linen Spray, and Soy Wax Melts.

Inspired by quiet mornings in the Ozarks, this bright fragrance blends crisp air and fresh waters with soft florals, grounded by warm cedarwood and amber.

One of our favorite details around the shop is the hand-drawn artwork scattered throughout our displays. From season to season, she brings new ideas to life with chalk markers, and we love the personality it adds to the store!

One of my favorite sights in the shop!
Today is cutting day, which means more than 500 bars of handmade soap will be transformed from these colorful swirls into individual bars and placed on the curing racks.
It’s always fun to see the tops before the loaf is sliced and every pattern inside is revealed.
Which one would you cut first?

🌊 DE JANEIRO ARTISAN SOAP
This soap has quickly become one of our best sellers…but, it is one of the hardest soaps I make.
The fragrance causes the soap batter to thicken incredibly fast, so I have always been too nervous to make more than 10 lbs at one time.
Last Saturday, I came into the shop super early and decided it was finally time to try a full 25 lb batch. And somehow… it went PERFECTLY!

Today I’m cutting this beauty into bars! I guess we all have those things that feel a little intimidating until we finally decide to go for it.
Turns out…we can do hard things!
