I’ve been trying to find enjoyment and purpose in showing up here lately; the past few years really.

There was a time when I truly enjoyed creating [content] and sharing my inner thoughts via social media. It was a creative outlet for me. There was a multitude of things that happened that brought dread w social media.

Maybe it was the pressure of the industry and it’s push for showing up or doing it “the right way”, or that people would get to know a version of me that does not exist.. (or that media in general is heavy.)

Day after day (year after year) of telling myself “i’m trying to be better about showing up for myself and my business” it became apparent to me that it wasnt about not having time, it wasnt about not having content to post, or not knowing what to do. There was this block that was preventing me from showing up how I wanted to and was holding me back from my growth as a stylist, as a business owner, and as a person.

It was the fear of being seen. And the fear of being seen for who I am. Coming to the realization that an initial opinion and a first impression is going to happen regardless of me putting myself out there. Even if I can curate an image of how i want to be perceived that opinion is and will always be out of my control.

There is a need to relinquish control because it was never in my possession to begin with, and to show up how I am in that moment, on that day and with that, to find joy and enjoyment in creating again. (And not giving a f*** about a typo because I’m a real person lol)

Taking the day to process all of my thoughts and feelings from the weekend with . I feel honored to be invited to be apart of the Davines community for the 2026 gathering.

I often find myself at tables with people where I have nothing to offer but a listening ear and curiosity. To have the space to listen to their stories and make deeper connections.

When I am surrounded by people with the experience and expertise I strive for it is easy to feel small; but small in a way of just getting started, proof as to what this life has to offer. This journey of self improvement and growth is a constant state and never finished.

I am grateful to have found the community I’ve been searching for; to be a part of something bigger than just myself.

3. maybe even skip a wash day if you can to let your natural oils from your scalp do it’s thing. ​​​​​​​​

This SEASONAL TRANSFORMATION was both challenging and rewarding. ✨

We had a few different things to take into consideration during her consultation.

1. The health of her hair which is always #1 for me

2. The couple inches of warm banding close to her root. We wanting to eliminate this as much as possible.

3. Her dark natural base that we wanted to brighten up but also have a more seamless grow out so she wasn’t having to touch it up every 4-6 weeks.

4. The end goal was to keep her looking bright not brassy!

Her first session with me was a little bit of a process but now she is on her way to a bright, healthy, effortless blonde!

WHY I CHOSE TO BECOME AN EDUCATOR?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
the #1 reason i continue to love doing hair is investing in education. doing hair IS an art and if you're an artist you know that you can easily fall into autopilot and get stuck in your ways that at one point lit you up and inspired you; but is no longer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
overtime the repetitive process can create a bit of a artists block where there is a loss of creativity and you become almost machine like, creating the same thing over and over.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
while the quality is there and you have most likely created something beautiful it no longer holds the same spark you once had for it.

after every class i've taken there is always a takeaway that paves the way for new ideas and ways to create. whether i end up using the exact technique that was taught or not; it opens new outlets to explore whenever i'm back creating in the salon.

my goal is to bring my passion for learning to other artists who may have lost their spark. to ignite creativity and revive their love for their work.
