There are some accomplishments that mean so much more when you know the story behind the woman.

My mom became a mother at just 16 years old, welcoming our oldest brother George. Before the age of 30, she had built a family with me, Marie, Gerard, and Marnisha—raising us while navigating life, responsibilities, victories, disappointments, and adversities that could have broken a lesser woman.

But my mother has always been tenacious, resilient, resourceful, loving, and remarkably strong.

She has celebrated beautiful wins, but she has also endured devastating losses. Losing our Granny Rose in 2018 was painful, but when we lost our eldest brother George, I witnessed a grief in my mother that I had never seen before. For the first time, I watched the woman I had always known as our pillar become deeply crushed.

And yet… God kept her.

Through every season, He was shaping her. What I once saw simply as toughness, I now recognize as fortitude. What looked like survival was really perseverance. What seemed like pain without explanation was God developing a woman whose testimony would one day speak louder than her trials.

My mother has taught me that your beginning does not determine your ending. Your losses do not cancel your purpose. Your age does not disqualify you. And sometimes the dreams that were delayed are simply waiting for the right season to BLOOM.

Today, Ms. Kim Peters stands as a HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE. 🎓

Momma, you never cease to amaze us. You are intelligent, courageous, determined, compassionate, multifaceted, and beautifully resilient. You are not defined by what you endured—you are a testament to what God can preserve, restore, and still accomplish through a willing heart.

I praise God for my mother.
I praise God for my friend.
I praise God for the woman you have become through every chapter.

And somehow, I feel like God is just getting started with you.
