Almost 2 years after nanoblading…
And they mostly just faded back to sparse. No weird gray tones, no patchiness, no skin trauma, which was my fear after seeing microblading horror stories on social media.
Here is what they look like before I finally go back for a touch-up with .
Have you had nano blading done? How long before you got a touch-up

Vanilla blonde, soft copper, and sunlit brunette are officially the shades of the season. Think creamy blondes with soft dimension, wearable copper tones that glow in the sunlight, and rich brunettes woven with caramel warmth.
We rounded up the spring/summer hair color trends showing up all over Long Island salon feeds for this week’s LI Beauty Scene newsletter.

From today’s LI Beauty Scene X Herald newsletter:

This is a different kind of Mani Monday. Because it’s also Melanoma Monday, the first Monday of Skin Cancer Awareness Month.
Melanoma can show up on the hands, feet, and under nails—areas people don’t always think to check.
Acral melanoma (ALM) is rare (about 1–3% of cases), but it’s more likely to be diagnosed later because of that.
As Kavita Mariwalla, MD, president of and Pretty Local Pro Advisory Board Member points out, melanoma can develop on the soles of the feet—and most people simply aren’t looking there.
For clients: Take a moment to look at your natural nails and skin when the polish is removed.
For pros: You’re seeing these details up close, regularly. That quick “you may want to have that checked” conversation can be life-saving.

Here’s my Pretty Local PRO PSA: Get the pics!
I’ve been working with beauty professionals for over 20 years, and I have come across MANY, in all sectors — from behind the chair to marketing pros — who don’t have professional headshots. And then a writer like me interviews them and asks for a pic to feature, and they’re scrambling to find a good one of them alone.
It doesn’t have to be an elaborate photo shoot if that’s not your thing (or not in the budget), but having a few high-resolution, professional shots in your back pocket can be the difference between a pro who gets featured and one who doesn’t!
Need a photographer? I happen to know a few!
This lovely photo was taken by .media, who always takes stunning solo shots of the Industry Night panelists. They’ve become a perk of being on my panels. 😍
