Good extensions aren’t about adding hair. They’re about knowing when enough is enough.
Enough color to make the blend believable.
Enough density to create fullness without overwhelming the natural hair.
Enough customization to make the placement make sense for the person wearing it.
Because seamless doesn’t come from following the same blueprint on every client.
It comes from paying attention to what’s already there.
The color. The texture. The density. The movement. The way their natural hair wants to fall.
Extensions should enhance those things, not compete with them.
Maybe that’s the real difference between having extensions and having hair that just happens to have extensions in it.
If you can spot the extensions before you notice the hair, something got lost in the details.

Plot twist: these extensions are ONE YEAR OLD. 👀
And instead of replacing them… we cut them.
After a full year of wearing her extensions long, she was ready for a change. The hair was still in such beautiful condition, so we decided to give it a whole new life and chop everything into this full little lob.
This is why quality hair matters.
When you invest in good extension hair and take care of it, you have options. It doesn’t always have to be about keeping the length for as long as possible. Toward the end of your wear, you can change the shape, play with the length and create something completely different.
For her, that meant trading the length for fullness and I am OBSESSED with how this turned out.
A little reminder that extensions aren’t just for long hair.

Your placement should never be more important than the hair wearing it.
Sometimes being a good extension artist means realizing the original plan needs to change.
Not because the placement was technically wrong, but because her hair was telling me it needed something different.
So we adapted.
Less weight where she didn’t need it. More intentional distribution where she did. A placement designed around protecting her natural hair first while still giving her the result she loves.
Because I’m not married to a placement.
I’m married to the health of the hair underneath it.

The crown is pretty, but she has a purpose.
The way I clip isn’t just for aesthetics. It creates a roadmap for the way I stitch.
Each clip helps me control my sections and guides the direction of my stitching, allowing me to create even, consistent tension throughout the entire row.
Because a clean stitch isn’t just about how it looks when you leave my chair. Consistent tension helps the weft lay properly, distributes weight evenly, and sets the foundation for a healthy, comfortable grow out.
Pretty? Yes.
Intentional? Always.
The little details are never just little details.
Being an artist behind the chair is such a beautiful thing.
We see hair differently. We see the shape before it’s created, the dimension before the color is placed, the blend before it ever exists.
But I think the most beautiful part is that our art gets to live on a person.
Someone trusts us with how they see themselves. They sit in our chair and give us the opportunity to create, to connect, and sometimes to help them see a version of themselves they’ve been missing.
There are so many technical pieces to what we do, but underneath all of it is artistry.
Our hands. Our eye. Our creativity. Our heart.
And I don’t think I’ll ever stop feeling grateful that this gets to be my art.

Thinking about extensions? Read this first.
Extensions can completely change the way you feel about your hair, but there’s more to them than the final result.
They’re an investment. They require maintenance and at home care. And who you trust with your extensions matters.
Your extensions should be thoughtfully designed for your hair, your lifestyle and your goals. Ask questions. Understand your placement, your maintenance, what’s expected at home and how your natural hair is being cared for throughout the process.
Because you deserve more than a beautiful after photo. You deserve to understand what you’re saying yes to.
Save this for later or share it with someone thinking about extensions.

A little technique + Color exchange in Kansas City.
I flew out to the Invi Lounge to spend some time with Reagan, an IBE® Technique Educator, refining my technique while also getting the opportunity to share one of my favorite parts of what I do… balayage.
Color and balayage were my first love behind the chair, and they always will be. Getting to teach the way I approach hand painting, placement, formulation, and how I balayage with extensions already installed was such a fun opportunity to share a different side of my artistry.
One thing I’ll always believe in is that there is something to learn from every stylist. We all see hair differently, approach challenges differently, and have something valuable to bring to the table.
I’m always grateful for opportunities that allow me to keep refining my own craft while also sharing the parts of mine that I love most.
Forever a student. Forever an educator. And forever obsessed with color. ✨

It’s National Flip Up Day and obviously I’m flipping out 🤭
There’s just something about a clean, healthy, beautiful flip up that gets me every single time. Maybe it’s because you can see all the little details that normally stay hidden. The placement, the intention, the craftsmanship and most importantly, a happy healthy scalp underneath it all.
I’ve always been someone who obsesses over the little details, so getting to be part of a community that cares just as much about what you don’t see as what you do feels pretty freaking special.
7 years of the original flip up and somehow I think we’re just getting started.
And because IBE® clearly knows how to celebrate a flip up… meet the NEW Flip Side Volume Weft 👀 She’s officially available now and yes, she flips up just as pretty.
Happy National Flip Up Day!

This is 34.💕
What a year it has been.
I feel like this past year asked me to step into parts of myself I wasn’t always sure I was ready for. To trust myself more. To put myself out there. To say yes to things that scared me. To keep learning, keep growing and keep showing up.
And somehow, I walked into 34 feeling more like me than I ever have.
More than anything, I’m entering 34 feeling incredibly grateful. I’ve never felt more supported or cared for, both personally and professionally. By my family, my clients who continue to trust me, and this incredible community of people I’ve gotten to grow alongside.
This year has brought so many people into my life who inspire me, challenge me, celebrate me and remind me how special it is to be surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you win.
And somewhere along the way, I had this little realization… I think I found my people. 🥹
And as if my heart wasn’t already full enough, I got one pretty incredible birthday gift today.
After 6 months, 50 submitted rows and a whole lot of hard work, I officially became an IBE® Master Technician 😭🙌🏻
Becoming something I’ve worked so hard for, in a craft I love so much, on my birthday feels like the most perfect way to begin this next year of my life.
Surrounded by people I love. Doing work that lights me up. Feeling incredibly grateful for everything that brought me here and really freaking excited about where I’m going.
Here’s to 34.
I think she’s going to be pretty special. ✨
