BACK TO SCHOOL HAIR but make it BLUE 💙📚

She came in blonde with a natural level 9 and had one request: dark & BLUE. So apparently today I’m a colorist. 🤪

We lifted with Matrix Blonde Max 9+, brought her base down with Matrix Super Sync 6A + 5N with 10 vol, then finished her off with Pravana Topaz Blue + Blue for this insanely vibrant dimensional blue. 💙

And she LOVED it.

I will forever say I’m a haircutting girlie before I’m a colorist 😂 but every once in a while I love getting handed a challenge that makes me step outside my usual box.

And THIS ONE?!
Back-to-school hair officially understood the assignment. ✏️💙

This was our second blonde appointment together. We refreshed her partial foil and added a few more pieces to build on the foundation we created at her first visit. The result? Brighter, softer, and even more seamless than before.

And the client selfie? That's the cherry on top. 🥹✨

**Honey brown, but make it healthy. 🍯🤎**

This was her **FIRST time ever coloring her hair**, and her goal was simple:
✨ Honey brown
✨ Soft dimension
✨ Healthy curls

Instead of reaching straight for bleach, I chose **Matrix UL-P**, one of Matrix's high-lift colors. High-lift color can lift natural hair several levels **while depositing tone at the same time**, making it a great option for certain virgin hair clients who want brightness without a traditional lightener.

⚠️ That doesn't mean high-lift is right for everyone. Your natural level, previous color history, and hair goals all determine whether it's the best choice.

For her? It was exactly what she needed. 🤎

The best part wasn't even the color—it was watching her smile when she saw her curls, then teaching her how to recreate this look at home. Education is just as important as the service itself because beautiful hair should last long after you leave the salon.

At our first appointment, we intentionally added more gray, blending it with her natural silver to create softer grow-out and beautiful dimension. It was the first step in changing how she viewed her hair.

This appointment? We leaned all the way in.

We embraced the silver, enhanced the contrast, and paired it with a fresh summer bob that makes the entire look feel modern and effortless.

This is why I love gray blending. It isn't about making someone look older or younger—it's about creating color that works with your natural hair instead of against it.
