Enjoy 😊
The other day, I came across a post from someone who is very well respected in this industry. The message was basically that if we’re going to post intimate before and after photos, they should be the “pretty” ones. I sat with that for a while. Because this, this is exactly why I post what I post.
This is exactly why I show the women that so many people would scroll right past.
Every single week, I have guests who apologize to me before they even get on my table. They apologize for their v***a. They apologize for their hyperpigmentation. They apologize for their scars. They apologize for their ingrown hairs. They apologize for their PCOS. They apologize for their HS. They apologize for their bodies.Think about that for a second.
How heartbreaking is it that women feel like they need to apologize to a skincare professional for having skin?
Somewhere along the way, we taught women that if their v***a doesn’t look a certain way, it isn’t normal. That if it has scars, discoloration, hormonal hair growth, stretch marks, loose skin, or signs that it’s actually lived a life, it somehow belongs in the shadows. I don’t believe that. I never will.
If I only posted what society considers “pretty,” then I would be excluding the very women who need to know they are not alone. The woman who has spent years hiding because of chronic ingrowns deserves to see herself.
The woman who has cried in front of the mirror wondering why her body doesn’t look like everyone else’s deserves to see herself. Those are the women I think about every time I hit “post,” not the people who are uncomfortable seeing real skin.
The people who finally feel seen because someone had the courage to show it. If my page has ever made you realize that your body isn’t weird, that your skin isn’t disgusting, or that you are not the only one dealing with something you thought you had to hide, then every photo has been worth it.
I didn’t build this safe space to showcase perfect v***as;
I built it so women would stop believing theirs had to be.

When I look at this photo, I see more than my grandmother holding me as a baby.
I see a woman who was resilient. A woman who worked hard. A woman who left behind a life in Cuba that she had worked so hard to build.
Before coming to the United States in 1958, my grandmother earned her degree in Pedagogy, the study and practice of teaching. She was an educator who loved children and believed deeply in the power of learning. Teaching was not just her profession. It was part of who she was.
Leaving Cuba meant leaving behind the career she loved, but it never took away her passion for helping others grow. She carried that same nurturing spirit into every part of her life. Children adored her. Babies seemed to find a special comfort in her arms. She was always the neighborhood babysitter. She had a way of caring for people that made them feel safe, seen, and loved.
As I have gotten older, I have come to realize that some of the things I value most about myself were gifts from her. My love for education, my desire to teach, my passion for sharing knowledge and helping others learn did not appear out of nowhere. They were passed down.
Looking at this photo now, I cannot help but wonder if she knew. If she knew that the little girl in her arms would one day build a life around educating others too.
Her teaching career may have stayed behind in Cuba, but her love of teaching did not. It crossed an ocean, lived through generations, and found its way to me.
Dear Peaches,
Today, my family said goodbye to my grandmother.
Over the coming days, I will be taking some time away to grieve and support my loved ones. I will be reaching out regarding any appointments that may need to be adjusted or rescheduled, and there may be slight delays in responses as I work through communications and scheduling.
My focus is especially with my mom, who devoted so much of herself to ensuring my grandmother was cared for with dignity until her very last breath.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and kindness during this difficult time. I see it, and I truly appreciate it.
With love,
Elisa 🤍
