Restoring support to the chin is one of my favorite treatments.

Chin recession doesn’t just affect projection. It can deepen the mental crease, create shadows beneath the lower lip, and make early jowling appear more noticeable.

For this patient, I used Restylane Defyne and Restylane Lyft to restore structural support to the chin, improve her chin recession, soften the mental crease, improve the labiomental fold, and create a smoother transition between the lower lip, chin, and jawline.

This treatment was performed during a live demonstration, so I intentionally focused only on the chin and lower face. She would be an excellent candidate for full facial balancing, where restoring support throughout the face would create even greater harmony and balance.

One of the things I love most about facial balancing is that it isn’t always about adding volume. More often, it’s about restoring support in the right place to soften shadows, improve facial proportions, and create natural-looking results.

• Restylane Defyne refined the chin shadow, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds for subtle definition and support.

These before and after photos were taken 3 months apart after treating the glabellar complex (the muscles that create the “11s” between the eyebrows).

Notice the static crease. It’s still there, but it’s significantly softer than before.

Static wrinkles don’t disappear the day Botox starts working. They develop after years of repetitive muscle movement, and they improve the same way: gradually. Once the muscles are relaxed, the skin finally has the opportunity to remodel itself instead of being folded over and over again.

With consistent treatments, these etched-in lines often continue to fade and may eventually disappear altogether. Think of it as allowing your skin to catch up after years of repetitive motion.

If I could treat only one area, for many patients it would be the glabella, the “11s” between the eyebrows.

Why?

This patient was treated with a typical glabella dose of neuromodulator (Botox®, Dysport®, or Daxxify®). Treatment takes just a few minutes, with results developing over the next 10 to 14 days.

Perioral lines are some of the most challenging wrinkles to treat.

While laser resurfacing would have provided the greatest improvement by addressing skin quality, this patient preferred a filler-based approach.

Using a combination of RHA Redensity placed intradermally and Restylane-L using the fern pattern technique, we were able to provide structural support to the dermis while softening etched lines around the mouth.

A total of 2 syringes were used for this result.

Every treatment plan is individualized. Sometimes the ideal treatment isn’t the treatment a patient chooses, and it’s our job to create the best possible outcome within those goals.
