Vitamin C, aka ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that can even out skin tone, support the production of collagen- the protein that keeps skin from sagging, and protect against damage. However, Vitamin C comes in many forms and can be very unstable turning it from a ANTI-oxidant into a PRO-oxidant. Air, oxygen, light, and hot temperatures are all culprits that trigger oxidation so packaging matters. Dark airless containers will keep the good stuff protected, but all Vitamin C is on a ticking time clock so be sure to use it up within 6mo of purchase. When it turns darker in color, you'll know it's time to say goodbye.
