Hence HairDom by Jo, was created to make you feel at home: welcome, accepted as the beautiful soul that you are, and to make you feel like your best, most confident and capable self that can go out and conquer the world! My hairdressing career started at the Aveda Institute Houston. I have been in the industry for 9 years and I love every second of it! I believe that knowledge is power and that is why I am dedicated and deeply committed to expanding my technical skill set on a regular basis. It allows me to expose myself to different points of view and forms of expression within the industry and connect with like-minded artists, who are devoted to the always evolving craft of hairdressing. Over the years, my career behind the chair excelled through continued education with some of the most renowned hairdressing academies such as: Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy and L’oreal Professional. My love of haircutting is ever unfolding and changing. I take pleasure in challenging myself to explore different cutting techniques and approaches. From traditional precision to more free form, effortless and modern razor cutting. Combining techniques allows me to create unique, customized shapes that fit your lifestyle, personality and are a mirror image of who you are. Based on my recent observations post pandemic, there has been an increased need to address the issues of scalp and healthy hair growth. From increased and excessive shedding to oily, dry or itchy scalp, all those concerns I have been witnessing with my clients, made me dig deeper into the sea of knowledge about hair loss and scalp conditions. That is why, apart from haircuts, I decided to implement scalp facials into my studio offering. Assessing and diagnosing the root cause of the occurring problem will allow me to customize your in-salon scalp treatment and make proper recommendations for you to follow at home, so you can embrace and enjoy the hair you were born with! When I’m not behind the chair, I enjoy listening to self- development podcasts, reading and going on walks in nature. I truly believe that personal development is crucial in achieving longevity, happiness and having a successful career in any field. When not doing hair, you can find me in my garage gym, trying to get those endorphins going and making Pinterest boards for future trips and DIY projects that I will get to ‘one day’.
